Okay, completely unrelated note here. Is anyone else ridiculously amused that John McCain's rank is Death Eater?

Grrr, I got the email, but I can't remember my password. The email alert thing isn't working. Is there a generic FFA Login I could use?

Never mind, he's just using the email to alert people. I fail.

An email was sent out to those who have alerts on FFA.net. It was one of the chapter update ones, however there wasn't actually an update. There was just a message about other, non-fanfiction related story matters.

For a password reset, you'd probably need to email Jeconais. There was a big problem with the server that finally got fixed allowing the updates to be sent.

The update I sent out was to alert anyone who hadn't seen the chapter yet and to let people know that Drabblecast put out another of my stories. This year has been pretty good so far. I've sold 4 stories. (2 to Drabblecast, 1 to Necrotic Tissue, and 1 to Gryphonwood Press). I'm excited about the Gryphonwood one because it will be the first one that will go in an actual book. Yeah, I don't get much for it, but it's still a milestone.

What you'll like about "Existence" (my story in that anthology) is that it is written in the same style as Bungle and Turn Me Loose. It's a horror piece about an immortal swamp monster (you) and should be available in December.

I've worked with one of the other authors that will be in the Gryphonwood anthology. That story is called "Precision of Clockwork" and it is very well done.

Dead Eye, I just finished the 2nd major revision. I'm working with Aaran St. Vines and we're doing the final touches and working on the layout. After that is finished (hopefully in the next 4-6 weeks) we'll work on getting it to the publisher.

Okay enough plugging, lets talk about fanfic. I'm about 1000 words into Lie 16. This chapter will cover the Yule Ball. I expect to have it completed by Wednesday the 22nd. Look for it the Friday after that.

TML 10 exists only in my head at the moment, but it's obviously going to start with a massive fight. I'm looking forward to bringing the usual mayhem and chaos. That chapter will answer the running debate of whether Svetlanna is or is not Baba Yaga. I expect the Baba Yaga arc to be resolved either in chapter 10 or by chapter 11 depending on how the writing goes.

That will then set up the final arc of the story which should run about 5-7 chapters. It's one of those things where I know how it ends and need to logically connect the story from where it is right now to the ending I have in mind.

After TML is over, I probably won't introduce another fanfic until Lie is wrapped up as well. Except of course when Dead Eye is about to be released. I have roughly half of a humor fic - The Inner Eye of Harry Potter finished and plan to write the Harry/Narcissa one as well. I'll also have a couple of one shots ready for release about the same time. Basically, I'm going to try to stir up my fanbase right before the release of my novel.

Some of my original short stories that I haven't been able to sell will also be posted around that time as my way of conducting a "launch event" for the novel.

Lie will have a sequel, but I'll probably run another story in between. It's either going to be that Battlestar Galactica crossover I've had in mind for a long time, an alternate book 5 where Hermione is sent to Azkaban for the kidnapping/coercion of Rita Skeeter and instead of the lies and misinformation used in the actual book 5, Fudge uses Hermione against Harry and Dumbledore.

Other possibilities are an attempt at what could happen after book 7 - It would start with the murder of Molly Weasley (yeah I don't like her) and if I kept it true to the awful epilogue Harry and Ginny would eventually have to get back together, but there's no reason that there can't be a serious break through most of my story. I also have a Harry crossover with BTVS in mind, but we'll see if that one develops.

Mucho gratz Jbern, might I request Amazon links for (when) your stories hit the market? -,- My local bookstore isn't big on carrying anthologies.

I read the prequel and some of the sequel but somewhere along the way I just got tired of the way the author wrote. But, based on how much I've already read, 3/5

    I'm conflicted.
I detest 2nd person PoV due to fanboy/girl fics wishing they were living their fics ... but it gets such good reviews..
    I'm intellectually cringing, but with a hard-on.

Its oddly well done, second person shouldn't work outside of the occasional choose-your-own adventure but he does it.

Yeah, it took me a couple tries to get into it at first (I had the prequel just sitting minimized on my desktop for a couple days--didn't want to lose it, but couldn't push through it) but after a little bit you really forget about the odd point of view. That doesn't stop me from WISHING it was in first or third person, but... it's pretty amazing that he manages to pull it off so very well. And that's without all the frankly fantastic ideas.

Chapter 10 is finally done and off to editing. Expect to see it sometime during the week. It will definitively answer whether or not Svetlanna is Baba Yaga.

While I wait on Dead Eye, I am thinking about a self-published project via Lulu containing somewhere between 10 and 12 of my short stories and 1 novella to test the waters and see how responsive the fandom will be. It would be around 50 thousand words total and be available in paperback (somewhere around $15) or ebook (somewhere around $3).

The novella is called Confessions of a "D-List" Supervillain and is about a second-rate powersuit wearing guy who is forced into the reluctant role of world savior.

We'll see how this project develops. A couple of the stories in this still have chances of being placed in other markets and I need to wait on the acceptance/rejection notification first.

Dont tell us its off to editing then it just makes the wait for it to finally appear seem longer.

I appreciate the updates, as it tells as when we can expect more writings.

I'm sure you'll recover from the mental trauma of having to wait a few more days.
