Wut? Level 90 only? Level 100 FTW!

I remember all I had was a level 100 Charlizard. The rest of my team was Snorlax, Larpras, Eevee and Hitmochan.

Level 100? Fuck, I don't think I ever got over 60 tbh. I had my snorlax, and anything else with high HP, just so I could switch to them when I needed to use potions or full restores etc on my main pokemon.

Wait. There are people in the world who didn't make their primary six all Lv 100?

That would be me. I always raised six main evenlyish (give or take three or four levels). But never beyond about 80. Took too long/fighting the Pokemon League got repetitive.

Now, I said 'raised'. But Rare Candy cheats on the other hand... oh ho. All 151 were level 100 when I was done... Thank you Missingno.

First gen: the only generation where I did, indeed, catch them all.

I never bothered to get them past 60. Always used to get the Legendary Three of Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres, my starter pokemon, a Psychic, and either Gyrados or a Fighting Pokemon. Always amused me when I thought of the Elite 4's reactions when this punk kid shows up with godlike pokemon and started fucking their shit up like it was nothing. :sherlock:

Doing a Charamander run right now. Leveled him up to 19, plus a Pikachu at 21, Butterfree at 15, Pidgey at 14, Geodude at 12, just captured a Bellsprout while trying to nab an Abra. (Currently done up to the Nugget Bridge)

I've developed a tendency to release all non-essential Pokemon after a certain point. It's just data and graphics, but it feels wrong just to keep them in storage when they could be back in the wild dominating their untrained kinsmen. Who knows, maybe some day, a young new trainer will capture them and use them to launch his own campaign to the League. :sherlock:

I didn't. Only my Charlizard was 100, the rest was stuck at the level I caught them/find. It was the first generation Pokemon. I still remember what my Charlizard skill was, Slash, Earthquake, Flamethrower, and Toxic.

    It was :awesome

I have no idea why I let him learn toxic thought...

So I'm not the only one who railed the League with a Charizard at the high-end levels. Henh. That was the first pokemon I ever reached 100 with(due mostly to trying to bum-rush the League 30 times straight ala one of those old Pokegod rumors) and it felt good.

Then I waited until somewhere around DPP to raise one up to 100 again the natural way. In fact, it wasn't until probably FRLG that I started to take the concept of raising a covered team instead of just relying on my starter for the job.

    Ah, good memories.

I just played through Soul Silver with an all normal type team. Snorlax, Porygon Z, Kangaskahn, Blissey, Togekiss, and an HM slave. All five were lvl 85 before I fought Red, but I never bothered to get them any higher than that. It helped that they had all been traded, so they leveled faster.

Also, Pidgey is the shit. Look at that Pidgeot:[IMG]

As a kid I pretty much played the games up to Gold/Silver, then stopped until...Diamond? Anyway, fully enjoyed the old stuff. Question: I don't have the games or Gameboys anymore, and can only play them on emulators. Is there any way to trade between emulation games?

Yeah, but not all emulator can do it. The only ones I know that allow multiplayer and trading between other emulators are No$gba and VBALink. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but beggars can't be choosers.

The only thing I really liked about yellow was that you could catch all three starters.
