I figure Ebenezar was talking about Maggie shacking up with Lord Raith, or running off to play with the Faeries rather than anything to do with Demonreach.

Interestingly, the folks on the JB forums have speculated a connection between Demonreach and the Wardens, since Jim posted that at one point there was only one Warden. The theory goes that the original Warden carried the mantle of Demonreach (in the same manner that the Knights carry the Summer/Winter mantle) and that his job was protecting the island from those with hostile intent.

It also fits well with my theory that the Genius Loci of the island is in fact a Warden for something that is locked away, with the door being on the island (perhaps in the lighthouse, since Nicodemus mentioned it).

 

Where is the connection with wardens drawn from?

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if EB already knows that Harry alive.

As a senior council member and a wizard with a couple centuries of knowledge he would most likely know that contracts concerning the position of Winter Knight go a lot further then death.

Furthermore as the black staff he would to have a few high level contacts in the fae circles, mayhap high enough to know that Harry alive and kicking.

Plus Mab kicking back in Harry old town in May must have sent a few signs.

This is actually a really good theory, and explains how the Wardens got their name in the first place. I'm kinda hoping that's how it ends up really playing out.

 

I doubt it; the white council goes back to Rome in one form or another, which means that they have had wardens for at least that long.

So a little unlikely that they got the name from a island they would have had contact with for only a few hundred years.

wardens show their position by wearing a grey cloak, demon reach had a grey robed image as an avatar. Since all wardens were said to have special swords, does the island have a sword for harry. It is theoriesed and rumored that there was originally one warden, so makes sense if modern warden ape that position.
Harry has never recieved a warden sword as the maker lost that ability, so one day he will need one.

 

You do realize that America wasn't just an uninhabited wasteland, right? I mean, maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but Injun Joe could've been on Demonreach for more reason than "because he was available". I, for one, think it'd be awesome if Demonreach's location was known to the Indians and that's why Injun Joe went, to make sure the place didn't fall into Nicodemus' hands.

I don't know how I feel about the Foo Fighters reference though. I thought Ghost Story spent too much time dropping references, I'm worried its a bad sign. Oh well even if it is, it will probably be totally awesome

 

Music is probably one of the few ways Harry can stay in touch with the current generation without destroying technology in the process. We already know he makes the drive to a drive-in theater somewhere, so is it not unbelievable for him to listen to music as well?

I get your point that it was about the reference itself, but the Dresden Files have always had pop-culture references, although they were more or less stuck in the 70's and 80's, which I imagine to be the years Harry grew up in. Maybe the more current references are meant to be a subtle way for Butcher to tell us that Harry is reconnecting with the mortal world in more ways than just a few people here and there. He's actually experiencing what is pop-culture for the 2000's.

 

How did he hear Walk is my real question. I thought it came out since he died?
