Well I always knew I spent a lot of money on games but... 900$? Really?

That probably doesn't actually count out how much you've spent on Steam, but instead how much your library is "worth" at current prices.

Chances are you've only spent a fraction of that, unless you buy absolutely everything at full price.

To know how much Steam sales have actually cost you:

    1. Download the Enhanced Steam extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.
    2. Go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/
    3. You will see totals of your Steam Store, in game, and Market transactions.

    eg.
Obviously these totals don't include games which you've bought physically, nor Steam game keys which you might have bought from other retailers [eg. Humble Bundles, Amazon, Greenman Gaming, etc.]. Only transactions through the Steam Store are counted.

Yeah, mine is surprisingly small considering I rarely buy directly from the store...

    $1,269.35
    Store Transactions:
    $104.33
    Game Transactions:
    $10.48

    HNGGG.

Then I notice I have like 3-4 four packs that I ended up getting my money back... also the account is 8 years old.

Game is 50$, fourpack is 150$. Buy fourpack, sell the extra games for $40, money back.

I failed to clarify that it wasn't a technical return, but stuff like that is inflating my numbers.

So wait, in this case 'private' is supposed to mean 'and friends of friends of friends of... whoever saw this linked somewhere', or what?

I haven't actually been in a private giveaway before, so I was just curious.

Not really. Private giveaways are just that - private. I wouldn't be posting them on an open, Google-spidered forum at all. If the creator wanted everybody to join the giveaway she would've made it a public one.

The donor made the giveaway for the SG community who use the SG forum. The least you could have done is to link to her thread on the SG forum where she shows off her new rig and has the private giveaway to celebrate.

If someone did that to a DLP member's private giveaway I'd be less than impressed.

It isn't a major problem, especially since the creator didn't try to keep it hidden in this case, but a touch of respect for the SG community and the people who're purchasing and giving away the games is warranted.

For most other private giveaways though, any signs that the link has been exposed and the private GA has been compromised would mean that the GA gets voided and re-rolled. I assume there'd be some kind of ban in place for the exposer too. Or worse, you'd end up on a few blacklists.

There is a suspension in place and an immediate reroll as well.

I'm not sure if anyone still needs it, but I've created a giveaway for CK2.

I'm replaying it now actually. Finished it a couple of years ago with mouse/kb. Awesome. Replaying it with Xbox360 controller. Still awesome.

The level design is the best I've ever seen. They've stuck with me for years.
