I don't know, sounds less like a sexy dress and more about willingly blinding yourself to the other person's faults...including the other person being ugly.

    EDIT:

I'm not saying love truly blinds everyone. I know this study isn't conclusive. I know that even this article may be mispublishing the research finding. All I'm saying it's a little of column A, a little of column B.

Basically: Sexy dress + LSD-like drug = woohoo!

Is there anything in the books that says how old Harry was when the zoo/snake accidental magic thing happened?

Many thanks. It's been a few years since I read the books.

Was there anything in book 7 that said what if anything the Order did to combat the new regime before the "Final Battle" in other words confrontations attacks on the enemy?

Why did Dumbledore start the OOtP again? They seem pretty worthless.

Everything in the HP books is a plot device. 99% of the time when something doesn't make sense, that's the answer.

How old is Fenrir Greyback? I seem to remember he bit Remus Lupin when Lupin was a child — over a disagreement with Lupin's father? I can't quite remember — and considering Lupin must be in his late thirties by OOTP that should push Greyback into his sixties yes? Also related: this may be fanon, but I thought lycanthropy took a bit of a toll on the body; if so shouldn't Greyback almost a hunched over old man?

Part of the problem is the movies where Greyback appears to be all of twenty five when he's running around the Burrow or kidnapping Ollivander.

I think the discrepancy between Lupin's and Greyback's appearance tends to be simply waved off with 'Greyback goes full feral' by some of the fans. I'm not sure if Rowling ever explained why Greyback looked like he did.

And you have to keep in mind, film and book versions of the characters aren't always exactly an identical match. *Cough* You have your mother's eyes *Cough*

He's still a wizard, though. Don't they age slower?

He had also embrace his inner wolf while Remus tried to fight it. So that may have had an effect as well.

I think the whole 'inner wolf' shtick is more relevant in fanfics than official books.

True but I was thinking more along the lines of someone who has accepted reality and makes the most of it versus someone who tries to fight it tooth and nail.

Greyback revels in it though, it's not just mere acceptance.

But I suppose it does have some validity to it. Personally, I couldn't quite understand why a werewolf, such as Lupin was in his Hogwarts-student years, wouldn't be hostile towards other animals.

I don't see what is the difference between those who fight it and those who don't. It doesn't matter if that person will 'fight' it. He will transform neverthless. And Lycanthropy is not supposed to influence humans when they are not transformed, right? That's what Lycanthropy is about, after all.

My personal canon - from fanfic:
It neatly explains why the werewolves such as Grayback are feared monsters, and why Remus Lupin is sickly, docile and peaceful man.

True, but in HP it does influence them nonetheless.

Take a look at Bill Weasley, who got attacked by Greyback, in his human form, and consequently acquired some rather odd quirks.
