Back when there was an oceanic server, my cyborg SW was Megatron, my SI Mephisto and my Trooper Rambo - and he looked just like Sly!

    Wait what? Really?

And I'm doing the same planet missions for the fourth time?

WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME EARLIER :fire

edit: Just to make sure, are these 'necessary' quests the purple ones, i.e. the class and the planet story arcs or just the class arc?

Either way, you have my deepest thanks. The side quests are usually quite dull, they feel pretty standard MMO-ish. It's the class and planet arcs that truly stands out. If I can skip the random collect missions I'll feel far more like an important character instead of helping every pathetic lifeform with a problem.

Sometimes I feel like I truly belong on the imperial side.

It was also nice that Datacrons are universal now- just need to log into the character that found them once to get them added to your legacy. All that work I put in years ago to get them is paying off.

Though downside to leveling quickly? I hit 10 and went Assassin before doing the last of the class quests on Korriban, so I didn't get a doublesided saber yet, and can't use the new abilities.

Edit: level 24 when leaving Dromund Kass... This is a tad overleveling.

So far it seems that xp boosts are now completely unnecessary. Same with the legacy feats. Maybe they matter at higher levels?

Edit2: Now I'm in my early 30s leaving Balmorra for Nar Shadda...

Also, every companion can do every role now, which means every companion should be set to healing. Questing I never go below max health, because the healing is so OP. You get a shitton of presence from the new companion affection system, so I just roll through heroic 2+ quests (havent hit a 4+ yet) without coming close to dying.

iirc, they've made it so that the class and main planetary story quests are all that's needed to get you moving nicely.
Companions are pretty OP right now no matter what the role is. It's hilarious.

They got rid of Heroic 4's all together and retooled them down to Heroic 2+, so based on what your saying since I haven't run a new toon yet, your not going to need to group again ever apparently.

The flashpoint system also doesn't seem to need healers- you just get queued up into a group of 4 of whoever (i've had 3 dps+1 tank and 4 dps groups), everyone gets leveled up to 65, and there are random "emergency koito" clickables during boss fights you can click if you need healing, though those are limited.

You'll also gain 1-3 levels per flashpoint, as well. Loot is all individual as well.

Basically, ignore side quests if you want to, because theres no reason to do them at all other then if you want to buy mods or whatever.

It makes me happy, because this is how I thought the game should be played 3 years ago : )

    Those are Tactical Flashpoints iirc.

There's still the Hard Modes which require an actual balanced party(Aka 1 tank, 2 dps, 1 healer)

That being said I think all "story" flashpoints now have a solo mode?

At this point, all I'm doing is the Planetary story quest and the Class quest.

After I finish that, I then do all the heroic 2+ on the planet. You can pick them all up right outside the planet's spaceport, and they come with an item that teleports you to them (so no more insane nar shadda running to get to the bonus series heroics!).

I'm lvl 42, and I havent finished Alderaan. Haven't even finished the chapter 1. I might hit 65 before finishing vanilla swtor.

So.. I've been buying stuff and I've come up with my lvl 60 character look.

    Temple Guardian Outfit
    Revan Reborn Helmet
    Ziost Guardian lightsaber
    Advanced Copper Crystal.

I bought a couple of those gold armour packs (because I'm an idiot) and got a set of that new black armour from the dude in the trailer. I think.

It'll probably look cool on my SS.

I'm mostly using a brown/black silent ghost outfit on my operative with that beak visor under the hood.

    I'll post pics later.

I kinda wish I used a blaster pistol instead of a rifle...

Hugplx Silent Ghost looks pretty cool tbh I was tempted to get it for my op, I think dyed black it would look kickass. I bought the Gold packs 2 of them and got:

    Phantom Armor
    Dark Legionnaire

Haven't used Phantom yet, but I used every piece of DL except the helmet for my Sniper.

Which do you guys think looks better?

Also, its not worth buying commendation gear as you level anymore (as in, every 5-8 levels mass buying mods and whatnot for commendations to upgrade your gear), if you sub. The lootbox you get from every heroic has 2 pieces of gear that matchs your current level, and you can easily upgrade your gear that way.

Same sorta gear you get from dungeons, if you spam those.

I remember making a Sith Sorc a couple years ago, after they made the game F2P, but I kinda got bored around lvl20 because I'm not willing to give EA any of my money since 2005.

The game now is as I wished it was years ago. Like every specific change I wanted and bitched about happened.
