I have to admit curiosity to where you came up with it, Tow-ray.

Because the only two roots I could find online were Latin singular for Taurus, or a Nigerian dialect for castrated goat.

    EDIT
Sorry, Tow-ray, not Toe-ray. And I found where you got it from.
Odd that I remember the pronunciation, but not the meaning

You mean you don't pronounce your name as "Tor"?

It's Tolkien's Quenya, meaning "forest, wood". My real name means "forest, wood". Therefore it's my name in Elvish.

Elvish pronunciation of "Taure" is like "Tow-rey" (incidentally, if you said it with a Spanish pronunciation you'd get the same result). Think "Sauron".

The elf character Tauriel in the Hobbit movies is the feminine form (the suffix -iel denoting femininity).

Yeah, I googled "toe ray dark lord potter", because I remember you saying something about it several years back, and actually found it. The explanation, however, had slipped my mind.

Got curious as to what mine would be, sad to say that many already use it.

How would you pronounce Encaitaro? Right now I'm going with in-kai-taro, or maybe in-kaita-ro.

I find myself very pleased that I always pronounced Taure correctly, as proven during the Berlin meetup.

I've know it's been pronounced that way for awhile, but I still prefer my headcanon:

    Sigh...

Go ahead, I suppose you've earned it.

EDIT: Here's another rare Taure variant.

    Pony Taure
    [IMG]

And a very subtle variant, Camera Whaure (Yes, I'm playing on the same pronunciation error.)

I'm certain the true disguise here is that Taure is in fact JK Rowling herself, pranking our poor forum for years for a laugh as we remain unaware.

No, Taure's a lot more feminine looking than Rowling.

We here can only wish JKR had put as much effort into her story as Taure has.

    EDIT: Somewhat ninja'd, lol.

I speak as one of the resident Tolkien ubergeeks when I say this:

    lol, nerd.

It's also not strictly correct. Quenya orthography usually requires diaeresis over a trailing ë to indicate that it should always be fully voiced. Also, the masculine form of Tauriel (Daughter of the Forest) would be Taurion (Son of the Forest).

Right, everyone can carry on now.

EDIT: NuitTombee - Encaitaro = [ɛnkeɪtaɾɒ]

I suspect that in actual usage it would become Encaitáro, [ɛnkeɪta:rɒ].

Indeed. However, until recently I didn't have a keyboard with accents, and there was no way I was gonna fuck around with ascii lol.

Yeah, it's not the name form, just the word for "forest" lol. That said, it shouldn't be son of the forest, just forest.

I'm no linguist so, I'll try to muddle through what that would sound like.

    Something like this? Ehn-keh-ih-ta-rahw
