    In that case it should be Taurëon, I think.

    -on and -ro are the suffixes used to 'name-ify' a noun or adjective without any other explicit meaning.

    NuitTombee: I think Ehn - kahiy - TAH - roh is probably the closest I can think of, Quenya 'ai' is a dipthong without a perfect analogue in English. Also, the r should be flapped or tapped (but not usually fully rolled).

    And just to join the nerd club I worked out my name: Nehtenóro. And my forum name: Erësaparo.

    I feel like I should put the plain vanilla Taure here, just in case it gets lost.

    Begs the question, what is the correct pronunciation?

    Edit:Whoa something weird happened there...that was supposed to post on the same day right after the quoted comment...my computer has been screwy. Sorry.

    'You know what they call a Taure in France?'

    Our first correct pun name. . . taure, at least, that's what I think.

    Wouldn't it have to be pronounced Tao-rain-tino to be correct?

    Granted, I don't know how Tolkien's Elvish works in the slightest. However, assuming the [eɪ] in [ɛnkeɪta:rɒ] is a diphthong (as it should be, considering that most European languages that have [ɪ] have it as a lax allophone of which means it would not be in that position if it were not a diphthong and recalling that Tolkien based his stuff off of Old Celtic...), we get this:

    Enn-kay-TAH-raw

    Also, I've always thought of him as Torry (as in 'faux female name', not 'misspelled British political term'). In the most endearing fashion imaginable. I have no regrets.

    Taure complained that the pronunciation was wrong.

    Tauredo = Tau-ray-doe

    Taurenado = Tau-ray-nay-doe
