I'd rather have 2x 9/9s on the board than 1 30/30.

Can the ancient one come from efigy or the new card that summons a new minion that costs 1 higher.

 

Thing is, there can be tons of targets for BGH but only two of them in a deck.

Not saying it's not a viable counter, just that it can counter only so many things.

Higher curving midrange hunter with powershot/explosive shot maybe?

 

Without the Scientist / Eaglehorn / Traps package, you probably run 2-3 extra 2 drops and 2 extra 3 drops, so you have a card or two leftover to use really strong stuff like Call of the Wild.

Ragnaros was already playable in Midrange Hunter (though midrange itself is a subpar archtype in the current meta and control is really bad), so this will definitely see play assuming Hunter can find reasonable substitutions for Webspinner, Creeper and Shredder.

Hunter still has 3 commons, 2 rares and the legendary to be revealed (plus whatever neutrals are left to go), so odds are good that we'll get at least some of the cards needed to replace what is leaving.

I already replaced shredder with tomb spider in my beast-focused midrange deck - but that's with bear/snake trap, which...might still worth be running even without scientists? Hunter traps are only 2 mana, I don't know.

Some kind of board swarm deck with no traps/weapon package, like Jackiechan's camel hunter could use this as a finisher. A guaranteed Leokk has real power with 3-4 minions on board already.

 

I can't see how this card sees serious play...

It's basically Elise for control decks. I guess? If you're fucked and need a win condition, play it, shield your nethers and hope for the best?

This is basically auto-include in almost every lock deck I'd imagine.

Siphon soul + this is an incredible tempo play.

Been playing a bit today, it's like every single fucking deck is a reno deck now. Gone are the days when I can have a quick game of heart stone on the shitter or waiting for bus.

 

Solution to this is to eat more cause you get to shit longer.

How does a control warrior/ priest even deal with that?

Pretty curious card. I think it'll be kind of bad for Maly/ Miracle. Would be a disaster to draw 3 cards you don't want duped for 6 mana. Though if I drew SS and already had Maly in hand? Maybe.

Possibly too slow for aggro/ raptor? I play MalyRogue and Freeze almost exclusively, so can't really speak to it there with any authority.

 

I think it'll have a similar problem to the shaman card Far Sight.

Sometimes you'll get amazing value out of it, and other times you'll get 3 duds, so it's not consistent enough to run in a competitive deck.

Dont know, prep + that into a good card is a incredible value play, you pay 2 mana and get 3 really good cards.

But if you got like 3 foks or 3 malys or something it probably would suck. Dont know.


Tt does create cards without drawing to much though, and rogue has many cards which benefit from a long game, so a weird mid range control thingy rogue might become interesting.

I mean, who doesnt want 3 beneath the grounds in his hand ?



Unrelated but i hate playing freeze mage into control warrior (who doesnt) and then have him play 2 shield blocks, 2 shield maides, 2 armor smiths - still get him to 1hp and then draw blanks for 4 turns in a row where i still have enough damage to kill him, god that made me salty . (he played justicar really late, so i had a chance and i drew amazingly well)
