If the opposition has Guts, then having a burn increases their attack by 50%.

If the opposition has Facade, then a burn would double the damage from the attack.

With Guts and STAB, then Facade can get to a BP of 315 (70(bp)*2(facade)*1.5(guts)*1.5(stab)).

But that's a bit limited in use, especially in the PvE of the main games.

The main reason I could see it being 'useful' (for a very limited definition) is if you can target your allied pokemon too, in double/triple/rotation battles.

Otherwise, maybe they've just thrown it in for lore reasons?

Game Freak have been pretty good about supporting the competitive scene with moves and items. They're really invested in it and this is just continuing that trend. Competitive battling is bigger than ever at the minute.

Biggest change is that Gengar has been nerfed, it no longer has the ability Levitate. The move leach life has been buffed from 20BP to 80BP and Dark Void has been nerfed to 50% accuracy and only Darkrai can use it.

Haven't looked at story leaks though.

Jesus, the Ultra Beasts' typing are weird.

Finally getting around to this - my 3DS version is 11.1.0-34U, and I don't have a second 3DS so I'd have to do a "Hardmod" which requires soldering and shit.

alternatively wait a month or two, and don't upgrade to 11.2. There is a method in the works that will let you downgrade without a 2nd 3DS but it was patched out in 11.2. You can use CTR-httpwn to trick the system into thinking you're on 11.2 so you don't have to update your firmware for eshop, multiplayer, et cetera. It's pretty simple, you just run it once every time your 3DS starts up.

That's it, yes!

You basically just need to boot up the homebrew launcher, run it once, and then you're done until you shut down your 3ds. It'll basically spoof your firmware so you never need to update to access services.

This is especially convenient for you, since in a few weeks there should be an exploit to allow downgrading from 11.0 and 11.1 without a second 3ds to utilize the DSi downgrade. This was patched out in 11.2 however.

Ughhh. Looked up version exclusives. I want Moon because of its aesthetic and it has my chosen Ultra Beast, but Sun has Aloha-Vulpix.

I suppose this is why trading exists.

 

Yeah. It's not really a big deal in the days of the GTS, and one of my buddies is getting Sun. The only 'mon I want in my first runthrough that's on Sun is Turtonator though.

But it's been pretty fun and not that hard as a few people claimed. I miss the poke' app that tells you if you caught everything in an area. You have to get to the first pokemon center before you can go online but that takes 20 minutes max. There's a lot more but I won't spoil too much this early.

You can start to buy clothes and get a haircut etc. right before the first trial. Bit expensive for the start of the game though. Using the friend plaza thing you can dye the white clothes with berries or from the shop itself.
