So a friend of mine decided to write some SI Naruto fanfic and it got me thinking. Personally, I've always seen SI fanfics as one of the warning signs of bad fanfiction. Much like harems, slash and Mary-sues. But it got me thinking if it could be written decently. So, what are the common problems/reasons why SI fanfics fail? Do you think they can be done right? How?
