Let's shit on Hermione
She doesn't reciprocate Harry's trust Harry has no secrets from Hermione. Certainly he doesn't keep anything important from her. Hermione doesn't reciprocate that level of trust. In PoA, she doesn't tell him about the time-turner, placing the Ministry's rules above her friendship (an order of priorities that Harry would never follow). Also in PoA, she doesn't tell him about her suspicions that Sirius Black sent the Firebolt before going to McGonagall. She keeps her date a secret in GoF...

Tom Riddle and Dumbledore
So I was thinking on Tom's relationship with Dumbledore especially during the first few years of Hogwarts. We know that Dumbledore refuses to allow Tom to stay at Hogwarts. Does anyone think this was an awful idea? Tom goes to Hogwarts during the build up and outbreak of World War II. He lived in an orphanage during the rationing of food. His summers there must have been pretty hellish. I don't think he would have been in the orphanage during the Blitz, but he would have still seen...

What is your mouse speed?
There are those who like moving their mice long distances, and there are those who move them in tiny increments. Which are you? I have my DPI set to 8000. I can't stand anything much lower anymore. It feels strange to have to move my wrist more than 2cm when I'm using my computer. Not a huge gamer, though.

Quantifiable Magic AU
Let's say magical cores are real and that magic is some kind of expendable energy, generated by wizards, which fuels spells. I've written elsewhere about how under this view, even an average wizard would need to have access to vastly more energy than a nuclear bomb, given the amount of energy required even by basic transfiguration. But let's lean into that. Let's say that that each wizard has a magical biology which includes an extra-dimensional space containing a star, the energetic...

The Reality of Sirus' Will
"I don't trust you, Dumbledork, nor your Order of the Fried Chicken," Harry said wittily. "I know you plan to steal my inheritance from me. I must insist that I am the one to administer Sirius' will." Dumbledore's eyes twinkled. "I am glad you are taking such a keen interest, Harry. Now, first we must register Sirus' death with the Ministry. Since you wish to be in control of the process, I leave that to you." He handed Harry a series of forms as thick as Hogwarts: A History. "Next, we...

Incremental Improvements
I don't know about you, but my favorite trope is when, in the summer before fifth year, Harry joins a martial arts dojo and Bruce-Lee-with-a-wand steps into the Hogwarts Express 2 months later. If you were Harry, and you realized in the summer before your fifth year that you needed to be stronger/smarter/better in some way, what do you think would make the biggest difference by the time September rolls around?

Memorable Trash fics
What's a story that's stuck in your head despite it being genuinely a bad fic? For me I'll always remember the plot of Hell Eyes, while it's not even close to the worst fic I've read it is ridiculous and I don't remember half of those shit fics I've read, but for this I can still remember the crazy plot of this. Not to mention when I was searching for this a few years ago I read a fic that seemed similar at first glance so I read that...And it was worse then this fic and I can remember...
