    ...you can't be serious. I don't even-

I think I'll go see something sensible...like 'Cloudy, with a Chance of Meatballs'...

Can someone who has seen this answer the following questions:

    (1) Is there bad language? If so how often is it used? Is the word fuck used at all?

    (2) Is there any graphic violence?

    (3) Is there any sex and/or nudity?

I am trying to find a movie that looks like I might enjoy it that I can also suggest for the family to go see. They don't like seeing movies with sex, nudity, graphic violence, or cursing. To be honest I'm not a big fan of movies with gratuitous sex or a lot of language myself, though some of both usually adds to the movie.

Ratings these days aren't even good to go by. I'd assume that PG13 meant this was ok but I know I've seen at least PG13 movie that didn't fit my criteria. Hah.

I'm pretty sure we're just going to end up going to see the Christmas Carol though. I heard it wasn't that great either as far as story goes but the graphics are supposed to be neat.

Only other option I see is Where the Wild Things Are. I might have liked that book when I was, uh, really small, but I don't really want to go see the movie.

I'm baffled at the thought of a solar flare heating up what's already liquid fucking iron to the point where it would destabilize the crust, before it did anything to the crust at all. And let's not even get into the fact that the largest recorded solar flare didn't even make it past Mercury.

I just saw this today and I have to say I really enjoyed it, I really think the big thing with this movie is that you just can't walk in expecting some sort of cinematic masterwork. If you go to see this movie your going for the fucking spectacular CGI of the world coming to burning end. I loved the scene where they were taking off from the airport in the jet, Sasha was funny as hell.

Also Cheddar no sex/nudity, no extreme person on person violence but you do see a good few bloody corpses and other folks just generally die and there is a fairly large amount of cursing.

I was really disappointed by this one. I went purely for the CGI, and where there was stuff, it was amazing, but most of the film focused on the completely unbelievable plot filled with inaccuracies that even idiots could spot.

I thought that The Day After Tomorrow was far better. Even the wolves.

I took my son to see it while my daughter went with a friend of hers, and I thought it was pretty funny. Usually when the voices are lower-tier or not big box-office names (these were Andy Samberg and the chick from the Scary Movie franchise), you can expect a bit more risque dialogue and innuendo, but this one felt pretty tame and G-rated, just the way I like them for my 5-year-old. Plus the story, while miles away from the book on which it was based, was hilarious and full of jokes. The best part? Mr. T is the voice of the local cop, and he is fucking golden.

    Prudish much?

You should go see Where the Wild Things Are. Seriously. I liked the book okay, and was half-expecting to fall asleep during an awful movie, but it was very good. I almost wished I hadn't taken my kids to see it, since it is PG-13 and we knew that, but thought it would be tame. Turns out it hinted at several social and familial issues with the main character, and it sparked quite a few conversations with my 8-year-old. Tony Soprano is the voice of one of the main "characters," and he's really, really excellent. The cute redhead from Six Feet Under is another voice, and she also does a great job. The script was surprising, and I mean that in a good way.

Send your family to see Precious. Or Couples Retreat. That'll make 'em happy; nothin' but wholesome entertainment there...

Hmm... why do they love that plot so much? I hated it in War of the Worlds, the 50's original is just so much better...

Also... don't Neutrinos just pass through us humans... all the time? If they're harmless to us how can they mess up the Core of the planet? Only saw some short bit about them in Horizons Who's Afraid of A Big Black Hole. Michio Kaku is in it. He's just awesome. Anyway, this won't be the first movie with bs plot science wise, or the last.

You're correct. Neutrinos would never have that effect on the earth's core unless they somehow underwent some fundamental change--but then, they wouldn't be neutrinos any more, would they? Neutrinos are near impossible to detect because they have nearly no interaction with the world around them, passing through nearly everything. Several billion pass through you every second without doing any harm, and the same goes for the earth's core. In fact, they're so hard to detect that neutrino detection experiments are huge, can go on for weeks at a time, and usually only detect a handful of neutrinos.

EDIT: Mindless, the Iron in the core of the earth is under so much pressure that it's mostly solid, not liquid. <.<
