As far as the LEC is concerned I don't think I've seen the top teams shaken up so much before. G2 only keeping Caps/Jankos? Fnatic only has Hyli as old faithful in Fnatic? Yet another super team in Vitality? The best LEC team from last year in MAD losing two players even though they won both splits? No one picking Rekkles up? Perkz is back in the LEC? Bwipo/Inspired/Hans to the LCS?

What an off-season. Plenty of drama to go around. Doublelift pretty much ruining his own return with his public bagging of ex-colleagues. Carlos's buy-out price forcing Rekkles out of the top regions. Another Fnatic drama this time with Adam/Upset.

    I'm loving it.

What's everyone thoughts? Which teams are your picks for 2022? What do you think about some of the dramas that have unfolded so far this year?

A lot of LCK/LPL transfers as well but I don't follow those regions as closely.

I think at least as far as LEC goes, things are too shaken up to go into it with pre-existing ideas of what teams are capable of. It's an entirely new set as far as I'm concerned. Their ceilings are unknown.

I mourn for the era of G2 dominance, but I also welcome this new stage of life to the LEC. As long as we actually get some good games and good teams at the end of it, and G2 and FNC didn't die for nothing.

Pretty hyped for the upcoming split, ngl. Off-season was some crazy stuff.

I'd really like to see a Wunder redemption arc, though. Also wondering how Targamas/Flakked will perform. That they've been chosen in an almost unilateral vote seems to indicate Caps and Jankos valuing them highly.

Watching Fnatics Q&As they seem to have a good vibe atm. Hoping they will mesh well, because the team they have built is full of talent and I think this iteration is the one with the lowest ego I have seen so maybe that might help them out. YamatoCannon kind of sold me as coach last year with the split he was handed in the second split yet he still took them to worlds. I don't hold worlds against him. Losing your jungle, top lane role swapping, rookie top lane and still going to worlds? Then at the last second your ADC leaving and you have to bring another ADC in? I have high hopes for them this coming year, it will be interesting to see how they shape up.

On paper Vitality looks great. But they have multiple strong voices in that team, it will be interesting to see how it turns out. If anyone can direct them it would be Perkz. I am still unsold on Selfmade, he is very mechanically gifted but still a very needy jungler and very carry orientated, and having Alphari/Selfmade/Perkz topside will be very interesting. It'll either be complete dominance or each of them fighting over all of the resources. What a stacked topside though. Good to see Alphari and Perkz back.

G2 grabbing BrokenBlade is massive. The new Alphari, complete monster on a team that wasn't as good. Jankos and Caps got what they wanted, built a team they wanted, they have no excuses this year. Word is they are scrimming very well so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I really want there to be an audience again. While I know it's become somewhat of a meme argument, I do think that there's a massive difference between online - offline without a crowd - and offline with a crowd. I always thought some players just draw an insane amount of energy from having people there. On the danger of sounding woowoo-y, there's a certain aura that just makes you know they've come to wreck fools.

So I do really wonder how all the rookies would stack up before a crowd. That's the real test to me, to be honest. Can you deliver when there's not just the danger of getting shit on Twitter or Reddit but when you have to face potentially hundreds or thousands of disappointed faces? Can you deliver when the floor is trembling because people are stomping their feet at every kill, blasting extra adrenalin through your body? Who thrives then? Who is really a champion?

Sadly Covid is being a dick.

Yeah that was a theme last year as well that certain teams should perform better on stage. Unfortunately Germany is going through their biggest wave of Covid yet, so while the rest of the world is starting to stabilised slightly(excluding new strains) Germany is at it's peak. Hard to see audiences back in 2022. I would love to attend LEC/Worlds one day except I'm on the other side of the world.
