I was only able to see the last 45 minutes of the series finale because I don't get off work until 8PM. But I liked what I saw. I'll probably watch the whole 2 hours on Hulu tomorrow.

To those who did see the whole thing, thoughts?

As a 24 fan since Day 3 (and I was old enough to understand what the hell was going on), I can honestly say I loved it. Up until the episode before Hassan was killed, Season 8 had been appallingly bad. But it really picked up and became a great finish. Jack was epic in the lead up to the finale, especially the Terminator-esque capture of Logan. The scene with Jack thanking Chloe right at the end was great.

Damn shame it's over, but given how poor the first half of the season was, I can only imagine how poor the start of the next season would've been. Wish the original writers had been kept, and Aaron Pierce had made appearances. Aaron was always awesome, and he would've been the only character other than Jack to appear in all 8 seasons if he had appeared.

Can't wait for the movie. Not sure how I feel about the CTU series that's been mentioned. I'll give it a shot, but I can't see myself enjoying CTU without Jack and Chloe.

I love the first season, but the beginning of the second made me go "WTF? Is this even the same series?" and I didn't watch more than one or two episodes. Is it worth powering through?

Short answer, yes. But out of all my friends, only myself and one other like 24, so I'd say it's an acquired taste. Also, I'm not really sure what you're looking for in the show.

I don't know what about the start of the second season made you have that reaction because that season got started a lot quicker than the first one (two or three episodes in it picked up, rather five or six). I think the whole business with the wedding took too long, but otherwise really enjoyed it. Palmer was the best president ever. Some very emotional deaths in there, too.

The seasons all varied in quality, but all except for the first 15 episodes of season eight and a lot of season six (had some great scenes, but not great overall) were really enjoyable for me.

As the series went on, the time aspect became less important. Like, in the first season there were moments where simply driving across town were made to be really tense (Jack avoiding cops that were after him) and it really worked. These were phased out until, by season four, the time aspect was mainly the deadlines on when terrorist attacks were supposed to happen. Tried to make it more action packed, I guess. To me, it worked, however.

You're always going to have to suspend your disbelief with 24, but it's a damn fun ride regardless.
