while I hold out hope that JKR will redeem herself, it's only a faint hope... won't stop me from completing my collection though. One more and I can go back to ignoring the cannon forever !

What I can't understand is why you are flaming about Rowling. Harry Potter is her story to begin with.

 

The fact that there are now so many versions of the seventh book going around tickles me no end...

I've read about endings where Harry finally kills Voldie and gets contacted by a Jedi to find out he's a Jedi too; that he actually drank a dream potion in his first year and dreamt all the last seven yars in one night; that he actually is an author and wrote thi fictional story; that he got up under the cupboard; that he went back in time to find out he was the ADAM and everyone he knows are actually his descendants and he's commited incest; that he's actually Gilderoy Lockharts log lost cousin etc etc...

I do hope she's got a good ending for the series, better than scar as the last word; or it'll leave a sour after taste that'll put me off completely...

Boy, Boy get up you retched BOY!!! Startled, a little boy of no more than eleven, sits up suddenly and bangs his head on a piece of wooden frame above his tiny cot. Rubbing his head, the boy discovers with horror that he does not bare a Scar.

I think the only way the last book can be redeemed is if by saying that the last word in the book would be "scar", that she actually meant Scar from the Lion King and he and the hyenas eat all the main characters.

Other than that it'll just be 700 pages of Harry/Gin Gin, 80 pages of Snape and Draco being redeemed, and 4 pages of action.

 

Redeemable or not, I will still read it. If nothing else, to find "official" closer to the series. That way when all the post DH fanfiction comes out, I will at least know part of what is going on.

I however will just read the chapter summaries on wiki and not bother reading the book for another year or so, there is really no point to it, JKR cannot possibly deliver what fanfiction world can.
