That'd be cool, we could even sacrifice, mean volunteer, Taure to do it.

That's fucking unfair. Rowling had donated more than 100 million £ to charity. I doubt she cares that much about money.

Yeah, I doubt that Rowling is motivated by money, she's already rich as she is.

If it's just a script, I'll still read it but I really hope Rowling has a REASON for it being a play aside from "I said I'm not gonna release any more books, so.....how about a play".

Still wishing for a book though.

I really hope she doesn't ruin my childhood with this one. Hopefully we wont be stuck with anything in a script format.

Don't get me wrong, i have no problem with Hermione being African-american. But switching it up at this point just makes it seem like another PR thing.

Still gonna buy that shit though.

Well, we're getting that script, so .... yeah. Also come on, will people quit it with "ruining" of childhoods here.

I'm looking forward to this personally, in the format we're getting.

    Yo dude, are you high

Also I don't think casting for the play necessarily dictates canon.

I just can't imagine Noma as Hermione.
    They miscasted her.

I'm looking forward to this coming out but not for itself but for it hopefully breathing some fresh air into the fandom and along with Fantastic Beasts down the line there's maybe 1 or 2 new readable stories. :)

Have to agree. I hadn't heard this was going to be a thing and it's definitely not as exciting as an actual sequel, but even if 90% of the fanfic that results from JK coming out of exile is mediocre there'll be something worth reading.

Even if a good 5% is going to be about Hermione getting hit with a race change curse. I'm a bit more let down by Ron not being a redhead really.

What I would find really cool is if Rowling wrote a book/long story on how the storyline would go if Harry was sorted into Slytherin....She would not bash them like so many people or stop writing after 2-3 schoolyears.

I don't mind reading a script format. Movie scripts that I've seen have fairly detailed scene descriptions, stage directions, notes about how lines are emoted, etc. It's not just straight-up dialog like some unprofessional scriptfics. And I had no plans to see the play itself, so it's nice to have this opportunity.
