Apparation and Disapparation

Surley you apparete to and from a place. If i were to apparte next to someone and they asked "Randeemy, so good to see you, you look well, hows the family?"

I would reply " Good thanks" But if he were then to ask " how did you get here?"

I would reply " I appareted" or "I apparated from home"

We would then have a little chat and announce that im leaving.

He would then ask "how are you getting home?"

I would reply "I am going to apparte Home"

I get home and my Gorgeous, amazing girlfriend then asks

"Randeemy, where have you been?"

Sighing becuase she is asking those questions already, I would answer

"I have been to Hanks' house, i just appareted from there"

I dont understand the notion of disapparation...


(Randeemy admits that in all honesty, he cannot remember it in the books, but it has cropped up many many times in fan fiction. At the same time he is confident that JKR must have mentioned it at some point or else authors would not riddle there work with it....

 

I always thought apparation was when you vanish and disapparation was when someone else vanishes... :?

 

That would make even less sense Indo. I say we just call it apparation and be done with it.

 

i think it is like "i will apparate there", "I disapparated from there."

 

apparate- appear
disapparate- disappear

 

It's the other persons perception...to you you're always going to be Apperating - however if you dissapear in front of someone else to them you disapperated.

 

but couldnt you just say oh yea bob just apperated over there.
its just as easy to say as disapperated.

 

There the same thing, it just depends on your point of view.

Example:

I apparated over yander

He disapparated over yander

 

I like that idea...

Think of it not as apparate and disapparate, but rather appearate and disappearate. But don't pronouce it like that. Still, though, I think that its just easier to call it apparation, both ways, and leave it as that.
