After the Deathly Hallows came out, with the epilogue ( even being a piece of shit and all that) and the aged characters, I expected to see new genres coming out, exploiting those new concepts. After all, there's very little FF about Harry & co. being adults instead of annoying, weeping teenagers.

We know Harry is an Auror in Canon. We know Aurors are the wizarding version of the Police. So why don't we take it from there? Am I the only one who would like to see a detective story in the HP universe? It has all the ingredients for any decent writer to make a good story out of it, and you have plenty of examples to follow in detective novels. How would the Aurors take on a case? How is the Auror Department organized?

It'd be ridiculous that the only crime one can commit in the Wizarding World was to be or to follow a Dark Lord. Murders, robberies, corruption, all that has to happen in HP's universe.

Instead of those many clichés that we see lately, I'd like to see an expansion on those concepts, seeing them developed. A Harry being like Sam Spade? Like Sherlock Holmes? Maybe a story with him following a serial killer like in "Seven"?

The author 'B.B.Ruth' writes mysteries. The first one 'The Cardinal Curses' was a great at the time, for me, don't know how it stands now. The second 'The Purple Potion', I couldn't get past chapter eleven. Malfoy plays a major role on the good side, dating Hermione. Ick. Double Ick.

My point is, I do like the idea of reading mysteries/noir type stories Harry Potter after DH. Getting someone to create an entire universe, since there is no canon to help anymore, and create a complex, well written mystery, will be a harder task.

Oh, and, naturally, Ginny must not play a major role. Even her as the 'villian' would be a deterent. Overdone.

There are plenty of Mystery/Detective stories. You just have to know where to look.

Look at the name, it should be obvious.

Here is an excellent story written by our favorite Galactic Sheep Emperor. All indications, so far, point to Harry searching for a serial killer, while trying piece together parts of his own life that he doesn't remember.

That could also be an interesting plot idea. Summer of the Fourth Year and during the Fifth Year have an Auror investigate Voldemort's return under orders form Amelia Bones. You could expand on what exactly Voldemort was up to during Harry's Fifth Year.

I want to see a Condemned-style story, actually.
