Edit: kung lou answered, so, never mind what I had written here originally...

But, I think your post just confused me more. Sorry. You said the nanites blocked the hat, but then implied there was a reason the hat put him in Slytherin other than the fact that the hat couldn't read his mind. Does that mean the nanites blocked the hat part way through and the hat did have some idea of a personality or the way in which the nanites blocked the hat lead to the hat seeing something other than "nothing?"

The Hat has has centuries of sorting experience and was created by a founder, ONE of the founders.

WHY would it have placed him in slytherin? Look closer at Snapes reaction to trying to attack harry's mind. An attack which was weaker than that of the Hat.

    "Slytherin" the hat yelled shrilly

Wow! That's a great twist! The best sorting for a long time, from the new perspective.

So Twist is perhaps too strong a word

    Might as well...

Er, no, that is not what I said. In my interpretation of the story, the hat did have access to his mind, since the block was formed afterwards. This turned out to be an incorrect intepretation, as the author clarified, making it now irrelevant.

My comment wasn't directed to you, but to kung lou. I had initially written a post in response to Olfrik (and a bit to you) but when I posted it, kung lou had made the post directly above mine which pretty much made my post useless. So I deleted what it said completely and replaced it with what is above. My comment about being confused was directed to kung lou's post not yours since what was said didn't clarify anything in my mind at the time.

"disturbing", "Quite disturbing, for some parts of the story, and some are just creepy"

I realise that this storry is a little bit dark, deliberatly so, but these exerts from ffn reveiws show what?

Am I overshooting the mark, is it all THAT dark, I didnt think so. But I would be interested in what you think.

Remember in this story Dumbledore is not a happy grandfather and Harry is not falling over himself as he usually does in his laughable and moronic way. THese Reviewers probably think that any story where Harry does not immediatly bend over when DUmbledore walks past are disturbing.

THe fact that you have written a very cool analitical Harry Has probably gone straight over there poor heads.

Its not dark, its more something else. I cant quite think of a word that fits.

I'm finding the story more serious, more adult and more analytical than the HP series, but not really overly dark or disturbing. It simply goes beyond kiddy magic and the simplistic mental capabilities that the canon universe shows. I wouldn't worry too much about those type of reviews.

I wasn't worried per se but I would be a little unsettled if what I was writting was clearly not hitting what I intended it to be hitting.

    A relief that is.

Belgarion, you do realize that those links are all Zevrillion's right? Anyway I read what has been written and so far it is very good. It gives off like a John Doe feel. Recommended

I concur. Recommended. Though I do have to wonder what would have happened to the hat if it had actually touched Harry's head.

A very good chapter. You can ignore my review on FFN, if you like, because everything has already been said here. As with Athenia, though, I'm finding the scenes with the nanites repetitive, but you have done a great job with them, as I'm finding my self thinking that something was missing with the story when you didn't have any mention of the nanites. Great job.

Very interesting new chapter. You said image of the future so I'm guessing we won't see the story as it progresses up to that point? I really like you're characterization of Harry in this chapter, he was indifferent towards all the deaths but he still had depth to him instead of being the emotionless husk that some authors tend to make him out as when he's like that. The only thing that bothered me was all the mentions of Praestanti, I just don't understand what it is even though there was the chapter devoted to it i don't believe there was an actual definition.

But other than that bravo, and I can't wait for the next installment.

    DEATH TO ALL CENTAURI:twisted:

Sort off, the next chapter will go back to the main story. This was an interlude, future interludes will follow that story line. I'm experimenting with a new story format - I will be working on the story from both ends.

Wonderful chapter. I'm eagerly awaiting more interludes. Will we get to see the shadows? In any case keep up the good work.

Not for a while, the dilgar war and the minbari war come first. An issue that came upe in FFN reveiws - just because I showed an image of the future and you know that Harry won - So What.

Nothing about his time at Hogwarts was revealed, how he defeated voldemort, or how dumbledore died. What happened to the golden trio or in Slytherin house?

If you think about it, I didnt really give much away by giving a peak at year 2154
