You also can't use movie evidence for anything. They even given lines that were Harry's to Hermione in the movies. Not that there aren't plotholes galore in the books, but trying to figure out book things from the movies isn't going to work.

 

I have alot of things about the third movie that bugs me, the major one being Harry using magic at Privet Drive. I know it makes the movie more exciting but he wasn't even in danger.

Also I was disappointed with Moony, because they are taught werewolves look like normal wolves, but with a longer snout. That monstrosity looks nothing like a normal wolf.
