Miranda Flairgold is regretting far too late that she tied her original series to fanfiction, because she thinks she could otherwise make a mint selling it to a publisher. Rahkesh's hatred for the name Harry Potter is the author expressing this.

And the true pity? In all honesty, knowing the state of modern fantasy, she probably could.

    Atleast we got Butcher.

If the next 3 chapters have as much filler as the last one; Im gonna side with Sree that it is unbearable.

Oh wait we might be waiting for a couple years for the next 3 chapters.

This is starting to become painful. How many thousands of words has she used to keep the plot from moving anywhere?? And apparently the war will not be in this part, that's part three. Now Snape's back and we are going to see the world's only thousand year old human (Nicodemus). And Rahkesh has managed to be injured and talk about said injuries for most if not all of yet another chapter. Maybe she finds that cool...?

I myself find that interesting to read but it would not make read the whole chapter again.

    So what happened this chapter...

    A little bit of training...
Rahkesh talking about his injuries some more...
    ...yeah thats about it.

From the sounds of it the next fic looks good but this one cant end soon enough.

You've gotta question the whole purpose of the "injury" subplot. I mean, it serves no purpose other than to beef up the word count with chapters filled with how he's going to fix it (which he is still yet to do).

I don't know if I've reviewed yet for this fic. Maybe I have, but maybe I haven't, so I'll review again.

    I hated it.

Vampires? Random, uber school? Slaughtering of Harry Potter magic?

Seriously, this fic is so fucking out there that I can't believe anyone on this site would read it. We might as well be reading 'Twilight' or whatever the hell vamp romances that virgin school girls think up.

OK, to be honest, at first I liked it. Harry was kick ass, and I could get through the complete story line rape because I was in serious need of kick ass Harry. Then the fic just got weirder and weirder until clicking the red x was a breath of beautiful, fresh air.

Voldemort... VOLDEMORT was a damn, tiny subplot in the bigger picture of this massive load of failure.

I'm finding it hard to even choose specific annoying events because there was just so much filler that you couldn't even see the plot through the haze.

2/5 for me. I hope this monstrosity of fiction never comes out from the depths of the Recycle Bin.

I am beginning to wonder if the author hasn't fallen into the same trap as quite a few stories I've seen on FFN. Trying to over-compensate the super kick-ass Harry they are portraying, they make up injuries and give detailed descriptions of them only to show that all the "ass-kickery" is coming at a price. Basically they come off as trying to avoid the criticism that the story is a load of hax/spam.

... and, once again, I strike off in an unpopular direction. First, I approve of (for once) having a hero who doesn't just shrug off a dozen broken ribs, with punctured lungs, and a handful of Cruciatus curses, along with multiple bullet wounds in every major joint, and being tortured and raped for weeks. Then Our Hero leaps off of his gurney, dons his cape and swirls it dashingly before heading off to rescue The Damsel, who he will then kiss one time and marry.

Rahkesh was badly injured in two back-to-back battles with major opponents. He's damaged and in pain. Unlike most people, however, he isn't lying in bed whining for codeine, nor is he taking his bad temper out on everyone around him. This chapter actually shows a great deal about his character. Rahkesh gets up and works to help himself. Unlike canon!Harry, he doesn't refuse practical attempts at aid, nor does he sulk or whine. He researches, with intelligence and education. He trains fiercely, despite pain and handicaps. He keeps track of what is happening outside the little world of Akren, and he is useful on many levels.

We all saw the possibility of the Chachapoyaro being called up for planetary defense. This was foreshadowed long ago. Anyone who is surprised by this decision hasn't been paying attention.

This chapter also revealed some important information about the demon attack. There is a cold, clear description about what will happen if the war isn't won in the first few battles. For those who try to scatter and hide, magical children will be a serious and ongoing risk to the people around them. It's necessary pacing - building up tension for an all-out war that Earth is highly unready to fight.

We have down time between finally disposing of Riddle and the next major threat. Preparations are being made to save what they can. Those preparations are expensive and will only save a few. People - ordinary politicians world wide - are having to set policies determining who is going to have any chance at survival. There are a lot of citizens who KNOW, rationally, that they have no real hope of being invited into any of the shelters, but they will riot and revolt when the doors close, leaving them out for the demons. Every non-magical vampire is being hunted down and executed. That would be a pretty damn intense series of stories by itself - imagine taking a warned and ready Dracula in his castle.

We learned some more about Namach, as well. *I* never thought about the Vampire Lord as a weaver. He gave us a hint about what he suspects might become of Rahkesh.

This is just what I picked up after one reading. You are bored by such things as development of secondary plots, interaction between unpopular characters, political maneuvering on a global scale, and military logistics and strategy. I find it fascinating.

I haven't read this series for ages but I decided to go look through it after seeing Sree bagging the hell out of it. After rereading what I could stomach and skimming through some random chapters, I remembered why I hated it so much. I also looked Banner's defense of the newest chapter and could only recognize one word that could be linked with the HP series- Riddle.

Demons? Dracula? Immortals? Cha-whatever the fuck they are? Weavers? Planetary defense? Does that involve a massive Ion Cannon? Should I be on the lookout for Star Destroyers? <-- Look, I made a Star Wars crack. This story breaks who-knows-how many of Potter Law. Uber magical school, uber magical creatures that make everybody else look like shit, Vampire Lords, I mean, c'mon, Vampire Lords?

I'm sure this story might be enjoyable if you tried to keep Harry Potter out of mind. But honestly, you can't pass this off as Harry Potter Fanfiction. You also can't pass it off as a good story.

Seriously, what kind of fucktard renames the main character "Rahkesh"?

    Rahkesh? Seriously?

To be fair, this story was the inspiration for those rules' creation in the first place :p
