Damn sree you really hate this fic....I stopped reading it after the whole lost in time in South America thingy...I couldn't take it after that.

This fic, IMO, is good except it winds up too long with some nonsense like the many mentions about wizarding Europe being backwards. You could only read so much before you think its too preachy. Then there's the thing about him changing his name (it sounds like a homo-vamp wearing leather). Also the lack of a ship makes it bad. I mean come on. You got that Ally girl who'd make a good enough Harry/OC. The lack of a ship and his constant being around with male vamps, Harry tends to sway towards fag. I also agree with a lot of you about the author destroying the HP universe and paving her own from its fragments. Other than that, the material she comes up with and the ideas are great and unique compared to a lot of crappy fics out there.

 

Wow. That's like saying, the chocolate makes this turd taste bad.

Maybe it's just the first ten thousand HP fanfics I've read, but I've yet to find a single one that was better because it had a romantic relationship.

Then again, I'm not a Sweet Valley High fan.

 

This fic is great, amazing, splendid and beautiful piece of fanfiction IMHO!!

I'd like to point out that a lot of people here bash many of the fics out there because of all the cliche's in them and all the ideas have been used before but when an author does an AU which is mostly original everyone complains.

I agree that the author destroys a lot of the potterverse to fit her own fantasies and I'm not saying that this is a good thing but doing this saves her a lot of work. There already is a protagonist, an antagonist, supporting characters and lets not forget how many people read Harry Potter fanfiction. Writing about anyone else would result in a HUGE drop in the people reading it. Without all these people reading (and reviewing of course) what's the point in writing??? (sarcasm)

I'm not saying that what she's doing is right but I can see the reasoning.

 

hum, i like this fic, but as some said, it's no longer hp. he changed his name, he cut ties off with his friends, voldemort is no longer the big bad (he would be killed in two seconds by most teachers) and so on. It's like a crossover, not really hp anymore.

 

I agree with the point that its not really Harry Potter anymore but it's still a good story just with some Harry Potterish events. Actually I like this more than at least half the books so *shrugs*

 

I like this story but wants more background into the wizards and witches from
the countries that arent as backwards as england and most of europe apperently is. The wizards and witches in america will need to be much more powerful and skilled then those in europe to bring in some balance against all super powerful magical creatures. Also Voldemort has supposedly travelled all over the world for like 50 years after he graduated from hogwarts, so he must have gotten in contact with some of the more skilled wizards and witches to learn from them, because of that should voldemort be among the most powerful and skilled mortal magic user around simply so that he is once more a threat, or play up the prophecy so that only harry can kill him, he just brush himself off after being hit by hundreds of extremly powerful spells from ancient vampires

 

I still like this fic even though its less hp now and more origional fiction. though a few times i think the writer hinted at a slash pairing and i felt like screaming. also it hasnt been updated in ages which isnt good. no the whole i like it though sometimes i wonder if the writer has a fetish for vampires and werewolves.


As a P.S. the writer also seems to have some major problems with Britian. which was annoying for me to read(speaking as a brit) but as its fiction it can be overlooked.

 

I could be wrong but i think she has more problems with some of JK's plot holes.

 

After reading the first few chapters of this fic, I can definately say that this is my favorite so far. This stuff is even better than Vorlon's story which used to be at the top. What do I like about it? Everything, from the original plants and animals, the trip to the special school, just everything...

So what if this story mangles the Harry Potter universe beyond recognition, and shits on it with original writing? This is a masterpeice, a damn fine peice of work. The descriptions, and the numerous battle scenes are extraordinary. A perfect ORIGINAL independant Harry fic.

I can't believe how pysched I am about this fic, finally something that is so original it can hardly be recognised from the Harry Potter universe. I prize originality above anything else, and this fic... wow.

Interestingly developed too. I highly reccemend it to anybody and everybody... but if you don't like the extreme originality aspect then its your loss. This fic is extremely addictive, it hooked me in the first few paragraphs... Truly a masterpeice.

 

Last chapter came out today, and as battle and fun filled as it was the ending was kind of anti-climactic. The last sentance is just a rehash of an already believed cannonHP factoid, and there wasn't anything that really gave me a reason to read the sequal. A cliffhanger would have been really nice.

 

Whats the point of making Harry learn all kinds of crap, make him stronger with all kinds of magic and then doom him anyway?
