Especially the imbalance between Cersei and Dany is something that never occured to me, but now that you've mentioned it, I find it to be a compelling argument.

Quite possibly yes, given that leaks came from a source who had previously been accurate with other GoT leaks. Shadow Shaman did it to score Internet points and seem smart, which isn't very smart, given that the r/freefolk leaks have been discussed in this very thread before.

It's spoilers for the most recent episode you ass. All leaks have been hidden under spoiler tags so that people who'd rather not be potentially spoiled can avoid them. Dick move to post a bunch of leaks without identifying them as such.

 

I mean, the thread of the title literally says "WARNING: SPOILERS". It seems a bit excessive to be worrying about putting things in spoilers in a thread literally meant for spoilers.

 

Leaks for future episodes that haven't aired yet are not "spoilers."

 

Spoilers for the most recent episodes that you've caught up on in a world wide forum, where different countries have different legitimate release dates is one thing - check the thread when you've seen the episode.

Spoilers for episodes that are yet to come out at all, based on leaks, is quite another.

Being down to discuss the former is fine and what you'd expect. If I wandered in and saw how the show ends in two episodes time when I wanted to talk about ep 4 - the most recent aired with other people who had seen it, I'd be pissed.

 

Thread is meant for discussing the show as it comes out, not the leaks. I really don't understand why you can't see the difference between the two.

If we're gonna start discussing leaks in the open then I probably won't be alone in nope-ing out of the thread until the final episode comes out.

 

I might need to look up the leaks just so I can find out exactly what that entails...

My thoughts in short on season 8 are that it's as bad as I feared and worse than I'd hoped. I understand the difficulty of the undertaking that is wrapping up something so massive as ASOIAF without GRRM's books (and whilst working with the CGI/budget limitations and a big production to organise with the momentum of GoT, not just being able to write whatever you can imagine and take however long you'd like) means it would never do justice to how the books could bring an end to things, but this is still poor even with those considerations. I don't think I've really felt much payoff of anything so far, which is insane when you think about how long these plotlines have been developing for. Like Endgame was (and I do think the close timing of the release of these two hugely anticipated finales to modern cinematic juggernauts made me think worse of GoT in comparison) this season should have been entirely payoff to moments we'd be waiting to see since day 1, but instead you get things like scene cuts right when Jon goes to tell Arya and Sansa of his heritage.

Can't wait for Benioff and Weiss to move onto Star Wars, because at least that franchise has already been ruined. In fact if we could partner them up with Rian Johnson (a match truly made in hell) and contain them to only subverting expectations of good writing in one formerly beloved franchise, that would be ideal.

 

Leaks are not spoilers. They have not been confirmed yet so they spoil no more than what highly detailed fan theories could.

 

It's implied in the phrase "leak" you steaming gobshite.

Better to err on the side of caution, right?
