    New season two promo shots.

Brienne is perfect. Melisandre is good, though not as fiery as I pictured her. Davos and Balon are boss.

Personally, I think Davos and Stannis should have switched actors. Davos looks like how I imagine Stannis, while Stannis' actor looks like a middle-aged dad, which is what Davos is. Other than that, happy with them all.

I would totally wear my Star Trek Uniform. That would be hilarious... though I'm not sure why.

The fact that you apparently have a Star Trek uniform is hilarious.

You'd need to wear a big nametag that says 'Jeyne Poole' but insist that everyone call you Arya Stark- it was a red shirt outfit, right?

EDIT: Next Gen gold is Original Series Red- that'll work

Bought it when I was about 14-15 years old (iirc) at the "Star Trek Experience" in Las Vegas.

It is honestly a cheaply made POS, but I couldn't afford anything else at the time. Just the top half/piece of an early TNG uniform. And it's gold for Engineering, etc. but that was the only one that remotely fit (it was still too big). I still wear it most halloweens.

Edit: Hah -- wordhammer, double thumbsup for that entire concept. Well said.

Oh, btw, HBO Go has a new trailer for season 2. I was seriously checking youtube for a copy of it every few hours. And.....now there is one.

    Enjoy

edit: if you clicked it earlier, it was the wrong one. Ooops >.>

Lol, they sure do like having Arya in the trailers saying, "Anyone can be killed." It's in like half of them, XD

Looks cool. Wish it was more strategy than action oriented though. I'd probably have preferred a text based strategy MMO (like OGame, StarGateWars, etc. only better) with a few nice background images. But I'm sure I'll give this a try.

Nice mashup version of the theme.

I can now link you to this badboy - a rather excellent featurette, and the most recent in the promo runups.

You Win or You Die. Deals nicely with some of the more creative aspects.

Okay, so I was lucky enough to score tickets to see the season premiere tonight (on a theater screen).

My thoughts, excuse the TL;DR. Spoilers inside.

We start with a slight difference in the title sequence: Peter Dinklage is first. How unexpected, lol. To the left of every name is their sigil. For producers and the like, I can only imagine that they came up with their own. That was fun to see.

First scene, the Hound fighting Dontos Hollard. First laugh of the show was immediately for me, Sansa had a funny moment when talking to Joffrey. She dissuades Joffrey from killing Dontos, etc, and then Tyrion shows up. Some lulz.

Scenes follow showing Tyrion showing up at the council meeting, Cersei is pissed. One awesome bit of cinematography was the use of the comet in the sky to change location. The beginning and end of each scene would show the comet, segueing while showing some beautiful imagery.

We see Bran sitting as lord, hearing peasants' claims. They also have a cool bit where Bran is dreaming through the eyes of Summer. Later Osha asks about his dreams, he denies them, they discuss what the comet could mean.

Robb and Catelyn are shown, as well as Theon bringing up sending himself to enlist Greyjoy help. There is also the scene with Robb talking to Jaime. We get a first look at Grey Wind, who is quite big. There was an audible murmur throughout the theater when we saw him.

The desert scene with Daenerys was beautiful. Noticeably, her horse dies. Not a huge divergence from the books, but interesting. It was a good way to get things rolling with regards to her plotline. Jorah was off, but I just don't like that actor. It makes his affection for Dany very creepy. They added a new bloodrider, Kovarro. The only reason I can imagine for using a new name is that Jhogo sounds too close to Drogo. (Aggo and Rakharo are the same) Dragons were shown not eating the food offered (Dany does not know to cook the meat). Her scene ends with her sending out the three men to the northeast, southeast, and east.

Stannis, Davos, and Melisandre are shown. Melisandre is pretty damn good, though it'll take a few episodes to really be sure, I think. They show Stannis removing Lightbringer from the fire, which made me giggle a bit for some reason. Maester Cressen asks Davos to help Stannis see reason (they are still by the fires shown in the trailers, btw, which is a lovely shot). Later, there is the scene with Cressen attempting to poison Melisandre. Well done scene.

We also see Jon Snow, of course. They are at Craster's Keep. Craster is a bit more normal looking than I'd like, but it's a minor quibble. His daughters/wives are shown in the upper area of the house, and Jon is very very starey. Mance Rayder is brought up.

There was a bit of an odd scene with Littlefinger and Cersei. He goads her a bit, and she demonstrates that "Power is power." It was pretty OOC for Littlefinger. This is followed by soldiers searching out all of Robert's bastards and killing them. In doing so, they go to Littlefinger's whorehouse, featuring a funny scene with Ros (they sure do like her). The mood quickly changes when they kill a baby in front of his mother.

When looking for Gendry, they find out that he's gone, but are told that he owns a distinctive bull helm. OH shit.

Flash to Gendry and 'Arry' on the King's Road (which is also beautiful). And....that's the end.

They masterfully weaved the episode together, showing most of the people we need to see. They couldn't fit in everyone, however.

Missing were Renly, Brienne, and the rest of his contingent. We obviously haven't reached the Greyjoys yet, though I expect it in episode 3, perhaps episode 2.

Altogether, it was a glorious episode, though too short. Though I got to see it early, I have now realized that I have even longer to wait until episode 2. Fuck.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I also got a Game of Thrones keychain/bottleopener. They were raffling off various prizes like a sword, shot glasses, etc.
