Acting wise? I agree she does a good job. While I do have many grievances about show-Cersei, it has mostly nothing to do with Lena Headey herself, as she merely plays out what script they give her.

But appearance? Fucking hell no. Up until AFFC where Cersei begins to get fatter, she's pretty much talked about and described as one of the most beautiful women in all of Westeros. Her beauty is well known. Yet in the show, that OC whore, Ros, beats her in terms of looks.

At least they nailed Ygritte, who was never supposed to be good looking in the first place.

    Edit: goddamn posting issues.

Mhh.. Pretty basic things, like how the Hound is nothing but nice to Sansa in the show -which is why we have so many SanSan fics-, whereas Sandor in the books wouldn't have had much qualms about sexually assaulting her iirc.

PS : I don't know, but I find Lena Headey hot enough. It's not a classic beauty though, like Charlize Theron since you're mentioning her.

For ME, The biggest disconnect between most book characters and their show counterparts is age. I always feel there isn't enough of a generational gap between many adults in the show.
I always imagined Cersei as much younger.

Although Cersei does seem more accurately aged when Tywin is in the scene, but I attribute that to Charles Dance's ability to radiate power and awesome.

Didn't know that. In that case there will be more left for dragons and Others CGI.

Changing subject a little, it may sound a little weird, but I really liked how Dinklage played Tyrion feelings in this episode. How scared he was of what was coming, but at the same time doing his best trying to hide it. It's a refreshing change from two extremes that are usually showed on the screen with characters either panicking or being total indifferent to their fate.

And the Golden Company was once again mentioned, this time Mormont was apparently working for them in the past. Griff is all but confirmed. The same can be said for Dorne subplot with all mentions Oberyn is making about them. Including saying that he has eight daughters though we will probably get to know only one, maybe two with the rest being just a background. But a lack of any setup for the Iron Island subplot in this season suggests to me that it may be drastically altered.

She's attractive, but I wouldn't call her the most beautiful woman in the world. Or in the top ten.

First of all:Ros is more beautiful than Cersei in the way that Kristen Stewart was more beautiful than Charlize Theron:[Borat] NOT!!![/Borat]

But, imo, this sort of thing just goes around in circles. The really wtf part of your post is claiming that they nailed Ygritte. She's far too hot.I can only assume that you were being sarcastic or you're actively trolling us.

That said, I'll repeat myself and say that such considerations must give way to casting the best actor. Not that it isn't a bit suspicious that everyone always gets hotter when they do these casting changes.

I guess it's rather subjective then, since I find Ygritte exceptionally homely.

What? How am I trolling by claiming that to me Ygritte's actress is ugly when I honestly think she is ugly?

I'm quite surprised that they decided to cast all grown-up Sand Snakes (the ones that are in Dorne) instead of simply mentioning them in the background. At the same time no mention of Arianne is even more surprising. Could it be that she's cut out of the show? Unless she's already casted. Or they plan to introduce her in the sixth season, but that would be a weird decision to make.

You can say that again. Perhaps she is cut out; after all meeting Trystene and Doran but not meeting Arianne is strange.
Do take a look at Tyene Sand, who will be using her seductive powers, sounds familiar?

Perhaps they will do a hybrid character and mix book-Tyene's character with book-Arianne character to give us show-Tyene.

Note that there was no mention of Tyene wearing a mask of piety hiding her true face.

Maybe they're merging her and Quentyn into Trystane?

Could be, but it would be a weird decision to make. Having her and leaving the Sand Snakes out is a lot less troublesome.

Once again it would need more work and changes to the original plot than leaving them out and having Arianne in.

As it is, I suspect she's just missing from the cast rumors, not from the show. But if she's not included, it will give us a lot to speculate about her possible role or lack of it in the future books.

    Might be another explanation.
They will try to play a male character who can be a contemporary for Margaery, Sansa instead of adding another female character of similar position - peer wise. Robb is dead. Jon is on the Wall. Loras is gay and Stannis is Stannis. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried the route of prince charming and gallant, Oberyn-lithe.

Or could be that this isn't the final roll of who's going to appear in the fifth season just yet.

Also, I imagine they aged up the Dornish characters so that they could have (needless) sex scenes thrown in. How else will they keep most of their audience focused on the Dorne chapters/parts of the episodes?
