And this before you factor in that the intervening period would have been the perfect time to gank Joff so that Tommen would stand to inherit.

Also, it's quite unrealistic. A mistress is one thing, flagrantly spitting on your peace treaty is another - nevermind the damage to Margaery's reputation and House Tyrell's prestige, and rumors that will follow Tommen's progeny.

Sure it does. The fact that the majority of all fanfiction is crap is hardly relevant.

 

Like I recently told someone, AUs are fine. But they should also make some sense.

Olenna and Margaery could have killed Joffrey at any time before Sansa got pregnant with his heir. Margaery was betrothed to Tommen and thus she would become Queen.

Her being his mistress makes no fucking sense at all.

This isn't rash hate. At all. This fanfic is just plain bad on so many levels.

Once upon a time, I imagine DLP raged against bad HP fanfics, when the whole thing was still new. Which is now the case with ASOIAF. We're seeing a lot of stuff coming out in the past few years, but alas as with HP fanfiction, 99% of it is shit.

 

All of that is well and good.

But how many gratuitous anal sex scenes does it have? Because that, I feel, should be the metric for the quality of any Game of Thrones fan fiction.

 

No anal and yet still a lot of shit to be found.

 

When I finally get around to writing about Droman's Jon Sand, I'll make sure to include lots of heterosexual anal sex. With AND without lube.

It definitely won't be until next year. If I write a chapter of Black Prince every 10 days, it will take me at least about 200 days to finish the Black Prince. If I can do a chapter a week, it'll take about 140 days. Hopefully forcing myself to write regularly will help me write more.

 

Jon was teased by someone about the vocal ruckus he and his wife made while together.

Jon then thinks back to the last time they were together. Seems rather simple to me, and it also plays a role in Jon's characterization, now and future but more importantly the value he places on his wife.

 

That's not much contribution. Butt fucking is a touch superfluous.

 

What's the issue with smut?

 

Smut is fine. It just has to be both well written, and meaningful enough to the story in a way to merit its inclusion. Character development, progressing the plot, showing the closeness of two characters, etc.

In other words, it can't be smut for smut's sake. Much like every part of a good story, it needs to show something. It needs to be relevant.

Otherwise, the Rule of Conservation takes effect, and you'd do as well to simply have a fade to black or a small blurb about the event.

Oddly enough, I find myself hoping for a canon rehash, here. I suspect they won't involve the Stark's, as they can provoke a Stannis-Robert fight easily enough without them, but I hope that it rehashes more. Both for the intrigue of involving a third party with tensions racked up another notch, and because I just really like his style and want to see more.

Sadly, there's not much left of the story, so it'll wrap up quickly, possibly in a fix-it way. Still, I'm really enjoying what's come so far.

I know, but the last time this story was posted was for chapter two. Therefore, this chapter is new to the thread.

 

Eh, it's two weeks old. We don't need to be informed of every chapter update for every ASOIAF fic that's ever been mentioned in the thread. That's especially true when it happened a fortnight ago and no one here cared enough to mention it already.

If you are going to mention an old update like this, then at least give us a one line review of the chapter to justify your post. If any of us wanted a "new chapter is out" announcement for that fic, then we'd already be subscribed to the automated email alerts.
