I wonder if he'll take after his father and half brother and be fairly large at fifteen.

    Harry will be 14.

TV show ages, after a fashion.

Tall and broad. Not necessarily 'large'.

    Next Time 'Round

A crack fic written in response to the Red Wedding. Modern AU.

It's a great laugh. The character voices are spot on too.

That was awesome. I hope the writer finds inspiration to write more.

Actually, now that I think about it, are there more stories like that out there? That are actually decent?

Do you mean crack fic or modern AUs?

Lit_chick08 wrote a short series of modern AUs in lieu of the next chapter of No Featherbed...

The Only Crime is to Lose

In which the noble houses of Westeros are mafia families.

Been reading A Better Fate. A bit fast-paced at the beginning and I don't really like the way the war went with Jon not at the Wall but the idea it's based around is intriguing and it's decently written. Waiting for the next chapter...anything else interesting out there?

My only issue with it is that the Littlefinger plot went far too fast imo. I get that he wasn't nearly as secure as he wanted to believe but I don't think it would have gone south for him as fast as it did. Other than that I really like it aside from "Whitewolf" the name just irritates me for some reason.

Ditto on the Littlefinger issue. I like the name though. And I'm hoping his wife wasn't taken and raped to death by Ramsay Bolton, and that she's just in hiding, somewhere.

Man I was trying not to think of that. Although it does make me wonder if the child ended up with silver hair and violet eyes, more of a reason to run than anything else, especially if she put two and two together. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if she was more of a plot point just to give Jon a reason to not opt for the wall. Dislike Jeyne more than usual as well actually now that I think about it.

This this this. In the back of my head I'm like, "Her disappearance was weird, she's probably with the Manderlys or something..." but then I'm like, "OP hasn't even hinted at the possibility of her surviving". I really hope she wasn't just a means for him to escape the Wall and now she's dead. That whole "journey across the Narrow Sea and coming back to the ashes of the North" left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I like the initial concept of A Better Fate but I just wish the author hadn't sent Jon on some random trip to Essos in order to skip the start of the war. I think they missed an opportunity there.

I thought Jon was going to participate in the war. That's what I was hoping for.

Jon participating in the war was initially what had me going, "Oh man, this story is gonna be awesome!"

Do people still read The North Remembers? There's a lot I need to catch up on, but it's still pretty much the best ASoIaF fic around.
