That story is pretty weak too, although the name of it escapes me. Ned has like 4 kids with Ashara and like 5 with Catelyn. Just way to massive of a divergence from his character imo.

Even if it doesn't have the pairing, I wouldn't mind reading about the lady herself. She's almost the Shakespearan, tragic heroine, with her haunting beauty and premature death.

I remember that story as well - Sand and Snow, or something of the like?

What are you talking about? It's about some OC named Ned Stark who keeps sexing up a hot lady despite the fact that he's supposed to be married. And very honourable.

    EDIT:

This is a pretty decent story, 3/5. Follows Ashara through her life, with a bit of Ned/Ashara at Harrenhal and further, which I'm reading write now. Also has the Brandon/Ashara sex scene, along with her trysts with Oberyn, in true Dorne style. I'd recommend it for a short read, it's only six chapters.

UPDATE: Finished it, definitely liked it. Goes the Ashara+Ned=Jon route, with Ashara as Septa Lemore. 4/5, because I started noticing errors after I posted it here. Nothing that'll distract majorly, though.

*Looks at Asoiaf books that still need to be reread before he can edit and continue*

This N+A discussion is relevant to me.

Though there are parts of that story which irritate me, overall, the relationship between Ashara and Ned is well done. Far better than the usual stuff you encounter when you look up the pairing on AO3.

This is a long fix it fic with Dany coming to Winterfell and marrying Robb. It messes with the timeline moving Dany along way faster. I'd give it a 3/5. Maybe a 4 if your really into Dany/Robb. It's nearing the end of the initial plot as far as I can tell.

Nah don't worry about rereading. I'm sure plenty of us know enough to keep your canon straight, and a healthy dose of the wiki will help :D

Is there a story about the Starks focusing on manning the forts at the Wall? (over generations).

Always thought it'd be kinda cool to read something like that. Where the focus for all Northmen was very much the North itself, and further north, while the South and their 'petty games' are just trivialities to them.

Until someone like Stannis comes along demanding an army. Hurhur.

You might want to try this one: http://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=344835

It's just starting but the North is already a very different one to canon and the Northmen were definitely more focused on the North than on the South. The Wall is also fully manned.

There's Swampstarks, Seastarks, Darkstarks, Snowstarks, even Greystarks, what pitiful few of them remained.

Someone's been busy in sowing their oats, I see.

It's interesting, but holy shit the deck is stacked in favor of the Starks.

They can raise 100.000 men, they have ships, their territory is more populated, Sansa is betrothed to Domeric, etc... I mean, it already sounds like one of those Humanity Fuck Yeah!fics, except this is North Fuck Yeah.

The only thing that could possibly threaten them are the Others and Dragons.

100,000 men? Wasn't that the combined might of the entire forces of Stormlands and the Reach? Nearly three times the Lannister forces?

Also, was that period intentional, or a typo? Because otherwise it reads that they can raise a hundred men :p

Intentional, not all countries use the same separators.
