I've had really mixed feelings on that story before now - Jon's done really well, and I especially like his relationship with Catelyn; but Daenerys is just insufferable - but that last chapter was fantastic.

 

Is it worth reading? I can't stand Jon/Sansa myself, is it thrown in your face in the story?

Jon/Daenerys and Jon/Sansa, in the sense that Jon is in love with Daenerys, and she with him, but he gets betrothed to Sansa in order to mend the fences with the North.

Personally, the only reason why I kept reading this fic has just happened in this latest chapter and by the gods I fucking love Robert for it. Also, the only other redeemable thing about this fic is Domeric Bolton, he's written just the right way.

 

I know it's literally impossible, but a part of me is hoping the entire fic up until now was an amazing bait-and-switch, and the rest of it is going to be the glorious liberation of Westeros from the Dragonspawn tyrants by the great hero Robert Baratheon.

Anyway, speaking of Domeric Bolton, does anyone know of any good stories where he plays a prominent role? I know not much is known of him in canon, but he seems like he has the potential to be a really interesting character.

relay battle plans to her 'friend', who just happens to visit some man who has ravens of his own that he keeps in cages. Seriously, that part was just downright cringeworthy to read about, because you'd figure with all the time she and Elara spent in KL they'd have picked up on some intrigue shit.

 

Is Jon bearable to read about? I dropped the other one the guy wrote because it was just him bitching about everything under the sun. So is it the same thing here?

 

Eh, he could be a lot better. Domeric Bolton was probably the best character by far, so I'm really hoping he comes back at some point. I also got really into Bran, but that was because I was waiting for his shit to get wrecked (which did happen).

 

In this story he can either go back to being a bitch, and I may drop the author altogether, or he can man the fuck up after a traumatic experience and go dominate. It remains to be seen.

That story wouldn't really be about Robert. He can do positive things but Robert isn't really a positive person unless you change him a lot.

There was a short where he knew who Jon was and Lyanna lived and simply said he would take Jon as his and she would be his wife. So to the World she had slept with Robert before she was taken.

 

Are you serious? Maybe if you were only allowed to write about a Robert after the war and married to Cersei.

 

Well, I think he meant it this way, Robert is a whoring drunk even before the war. He's been described as a person that's quick to make friends but he's known for his fury and a grudge that doesn't go away( hence the 'dragonspawn' incident). Well it's not like he can't be written in a positive light, but yeah you'd only be writing one side of him. Perhaps if he was married to Lyanna and became King?Or if the war didn't happen at all. I remember this one fic where he did marry Lyanna and didn't go to war and stayed a lord of Storm's End, the author would still show him a whoring drunk, but he would at least temper it for Lyanna. I forgot the name of it though.

 

We're forgetting that Robert was like 20 during the war. I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to think that he had the capacity to mature, but situations just caused him to become worse. I don't think he would've ever been the greatest king, or completely sober, but I think he could've learned some idea of temperance.

Maybe if he didn't lose Lyanna, maybe if he didn't marry Cersei, maybe if he wasn't King, etc. We never see how Robert actually was before and during the war, we just see him 15~ years after the fact when he's bitter/long past his prime/drunkard/etc.

 

I need another good LoTR/GoT crossover. Aside from EricDal's House of Elendil, there really aren't any good xovers from those two. I see a LOT of potential in crossover.

 

There is small crossover, while only one chapter, is kinda a good premise. Its about one of the Stark kings getting shipwrecked and is saved by Numeneoreans.

Our Choices Seal Our Fate recently updated again. It seems like it is finally starting to pick up.

Jon seems to become darker and less pouty. Hope he stays that way.

Daenerys is quite in character and seems to be getting stronger. Anyways, she is doing her thing as she does in canon.

And that ending... Ha. Shit gonna get real in Winterfell.

 

Fuck ups like Daenerys' and Sansa's now just piss me off... Sansa's more than Daenerys', why would you tell some random trader about the fortifications of the castle? Seriously, how naive can you be?
