Horcrux creation happens in the very last chapter of that story, which was published fairly recently.

I'd give it a 3/5 personally, for its potential and solid sequences in places. But that's getting off topic so whatever.

 

I've recently read an amazing one shot that has Harry make a horcrux. Mind you, it is at the end but it is a great read anyway:

It's been a few years since I read it, but I found it quite good back then. If it still holds up to standards, I'm not sure.

 

Yeaaaaaaaaa... I read that one. Its... Decent. But Spoiler; Harry dies, Ginny marries Malfoy, and Cho has Harry's kid. Not precisely DLP material, but ...interesting.

 

Yeah. It was certainly an interesting story. I loved the Harry-kills-people bit. Lots of other stuff I skipped over. I'd rate it a 3/5, honestly.
