So I've been hunting this story down off and on for almost two years, and I have absolutely no idea what it is called or if it even still exists. Way back when I first started reading fanfic (before I created a ffn account and Favorited the stories I liked) I read a Daphne/Harry story that started at a funeral, Harry's funeral to be precise. Daphne comes up to speak, admits that she dated Harry, tells this whole long story about how they got together.... in the process bashing Ron and Ginny and Hermione etc. etc.

Then she walks away, jumps in the car with (gasp! Harry) and they drive off together.

It wasn't particularly good, if I recall... but I need closure. Please help me find it.

I really loved that fic. In fact, I've been going over and rereading some of my old favorites, and that's next on my list to read. I do hope it's as enjoyable as I remember.

I read that right when I first started reading fanfic, and only had a vague memory that it was something. Having now reread Perfect Situations, I was mixing this story up w/ another.

But yeah, this was a fun read. Thanks for finding it for me!

 

I've always liked some of Jeconais' stuff. Mainly Hope and Perfect Situations.

If there's one person who does fluff/romance well, it's Jeconais. It hasn't aged that well though.

Still, definitely enjoy a reread of them now and then.

 

Especially with his funny sentences to Daphne. "Your growling isn't as sexy as your arse."

 

The story is only marginally better that the rest of the HP/DG stuff out there, and only due to the writing style. I didn't think it was particularly brilliant when I first read it three years ago, and its definitely not getting better with age. The plot and characterizations don't win any points either. At one point he describes Daphne's measurements as like 38c or something, and I get the image of a barrel chested lumberjack. Once you've read one Jeconias story, you've read them all, and this is one you could skip over.
