Back Again, Harry?

One of the few fics that spends a lot of time in first year where I don't have the urge to skim. It's a time-travel fic, but Harry is sent back from the King's Cross Dream in DH, so he's not super-powerful, just his 17-year old, good at Defense, average at everything else self.

It's really, really well written.

 

The Next Lord of Kobol got dropped by Jbern right as it got interesting. While I'd love to see a sequel to The Lie I've Lived, it at least had some sort of ending/resolution. I would love to see some of the other great, abandoned fics that've been mentioned but I categorically reject that Discordant has been abandoned. It's only been four months!

 

After reading though this thread I've concluded, reading fanfics is suffering.

 

I know it's been like a year, but it's not abandoned. I was just working on other things first. Was planning on writing some tonight for the next chapter..

I know Menace posted his outline and whatnot, but I would've given my right arm to see The Howling Wind finished. So close to perfect. While I'm on the subject of damn-near perfect Naruto stories I'd love to see fnished, The Girl From Whirlpool is still one of my favorite, if not the favorite, Naruto stories out there.

 

For me Break Ties is an example of someone trying hard to do a "realistic" Harry goes dark, but falls into every fucking cliche in the book.

Skipping Stones. Absolutely fantastic story that was dropped just as it began.

There are so many "harry travels to another dimensions/time and meets the people there" and apart from Timely Errors they are all unfinished or awful. Suffering.

 

This is not abandoned.

 

Hallowed isn't abandoned. I'm just really, really shit at updating, which often looks the same to the untrained eye.

The Second War series though basically is abandoned. If I do anything with it, it'll be a re-write to change all the stuff I'm not really happy with (which is a lot, if I'm honest).

Edit: And as for saying your fic isn't abandoned, if it hasn't updated in a long time and there is no update in sight, it is abandoned, even if your working on it.

IP82's Breaking Ties was one of my favorites at the time, it's a shame he disappeared.

Anarkia by Naia would be right after Santi's for me, I absolutely love this fic.
