Alright, yeah. I am level nine now, and they seem to be starting to fight back. I suppose this is to give gaming newbies some learning room.

    Oh, and, nice avatar.

    P.S. Names KaiShek

When you get around level 20, you have to fight off multiple fighters at once, it's pleasantly challenging, though my fighter is pretty flimsy so it's easy for me to die if I don't watch it.

Yeah don't worry about dying too much in the early levels. You don't lose too much money. Also if you die from a player don't don't lose money but they do get a items called kill markfrom you which can be used to gain exp or sold for money. Same if you kill them, higher level players drop better killmarks which gives more exp/money.

You should find people to add to your friend lists. When Both you and you friend have each other on eachothers list, you gain bonus exp when both of you are online. The more people you have on your friend list, the faster you level.

I'm going to try this. I'm without a video game console right now and I need games to play.

It works fine for everyone else here. It's most likely your firewall settings. By any chance do you use Avast or AVG?

If you use advast To continue playing AirRivals goto
Standard shield -> Customize ->Advance (tab) and add airrival.exe(complete path) to the not to be scanned list.

Anyone who has recently tried a variety of games and uses AVG has learned there is an issue with false positives in a variety of games, and it seems like AR is on the list of false positives. Hopefully GF can fix the false positive issue with a patch, but until then, if people are having issues with false positives, here are a few tips to deal with it.

The first step is to check if the virus alert is real or not (who knows, maybe you really got it infected). This step sadly requires you to redownload and install and patch the game. If the new version still thinks it is a virus, then you have a false positive issue.

By default, AVG sends the game to its virus vault, yet even if ignored the shield will block access to the game. There are two things which control these actions, the scheduled scan and the resident shield. The scheduled scan can be left as is, but after each scan the game must be recovered. The resident shield must be shut down to access the game (and turned back on when you close the game). To control the resident shield, click the avg icon in your system tray. This should open the control center. Right click on Resident Shield and click Properties. Uncheck the box at the top, which says it is turning the shield on. Yes, this means your protection shield is offline, it is the only way to overcome AVG blocking the game during a false positive. Your computer will complain strongly about this change, and recommended you don't run anything else while the shield is down. Recheck this box or select Activate will turn it back on.

To recover the game from the virus vault, go to the control center and open the virus vault. Right click on the air rivals entry and select Restore File(s). This must be done everytime the resident shield or scheduled scan (or any scan for that matter) send the game to the vault.

    Troubleshooting:

*The game program can not be found:
AVG most likely sent the game to your virus vault if it is at fault. See above for how to recover the game from the virus vault.

*The game does not begin, not even that first loading bar before the login screen, or the computer says that you don't have enough permissions to run the game:
If AVG did this, it is because your resident shield is still active and finding it as a false positive. See above for turning off your resident shield.

I'm in, I-Gear in ANI on Orion and my name is PirateJack, anyone see me when I'm online just give me a shout. I used to play Space Cowboy age ago but I got bored before I really got into it, let's see if I last long this time.

Planetside is still the better MMO though >_>.

Can't edit my post, so sorry mods/admins >_>.

Anyway, lvl 11, game is addictive as all hell. My only real question is, there aren't any 'hacks'/cheats for this game are there? I play and admin several servers on the game Urban Terror, and it's so infested with cheaters that I often spend more time banning people than actually playing. Don't want to start another game where 25%+ of the people are cheating somehow.

All games have hacks. There are a few client side data scripts that could be edited, but rarely people hack because they get found out and banned very fast. GM's are quite keen on banning and catching hackers. The community is also very observant. Hacks are quite noticeable. If a hacker is smart enough he wont be doing it in front of anyone, friend or foe. Because when they do, they'll be reported and banned with in half a day. That rules out using hacks in pvp. Since post fast leveling maps and spots are usually occupied with people it's probably not a good idea to hack there either.

Firstly-I'm sorry I phrased that wrong. A better way to ask would have been "Is the game filled with script kiddies/cheaters?"

Second-You already answered that too. Thanks for the info, looks like a good game :).

    Hacks

There are many hacks in Air Rivals. This game is probably the easiest to hack because there is no protection for it. I've been playing in short bursts only, but I've already encountered tons of hackers and have learned how to counter most of their hacks with luck and good timing. What ever you do, don't play on the bottom most server. It is crawling with hackers and the Something Awful goons even have a brigade formed.

Level 14 here. Not playing to often. I can't play for long without getting bored, hopefully it eventually becomes a little more addicting.
