Think of a character, and he'll guess it. It's managed it every time with me.

 

I had so much fun with this a month or so ago, along with various people on IRC. They had much better luck at tricking him than I did, though

 

Just think of an obscure character. I tried Kvothe first, he got it after throwing me Rand al'Thor. Went with Crestlin next from the Saga of Recluse, second book, and he couldn't get it. Was pretty fun.

 

I tried out Vlad Taltos from the Drageara series. It tried to guess Jack Sparrow, but on a second try it found the right guy. After that Shane Schofield from the Scarecrow books, and at first it went for Yossarian, lol, but again it got it after that.

 

Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Hermione Granger, Darth Vader, and John Connor. All in the first try. Maybe I'm way too predictable, but still...

 

Abed Nadir(Community), Scrooge McDuck(Duck Tales), Charlie Kelly(It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and Thad Castle(Blue Mountain State) all on the first guess. It took three guesses for Pete Eckardt(The League) though. Still very nice.

 

Ho-hum.

Alistair of Dragon Age: Origins, Belgarion from the Belgariad/Mallorean, Miles Vorkosigan from the Vorkosigan Saga, and Trask fucking Ulgo from the first ten seconds of KoTOR. This is insane.

 

One time I used that thing it was able to throw out a certain scene in the rugrats where Stu was making pudding at 4AM in one try. Heh.

 

It got everything I tried up until I picked Screw-On Head. He'd never heard of that.

 

Akinator apparently doesn't read Joe Abercrombie.

edit Lmfao, as soon as I say it he gets it. 3rd try? 4th? Logen Ninefingers.

 

Took him around 60 questions to find Peeves. And then he got Tyrion Lannister in a few tries.

 

Took him four tries to get mine. Then again I cheated.

Second try, didn't cheat, he couldn't guess it at all. You don't get much more obscure than Diaan Lawrenson.

 

It guessed Betty Boop. Need to go older and more obscure I guess.
He got Frogger as well. :/

 

It didn't know who Dudley Dursley was.

 

It didn't get Lasciel, and thought of your own fantasy, made up, akroma, and Meciel first.
Wow. Shezza's character has been wrung through more times than the original.

It got toot-toot, but only after Thing1/Thing2. It got William Mandella first try.

 

I have to say, I think that some of the issues are with you guys, not Akinator. Perhaps you aren't answering the questions well enough.

Heh - It didn't get Ron Weasley.

The trick was that I answered all questions based on the epilogue: over 35 years old, married, children, etc.

 

No, it genuinely did not know who The Amazing Screw-On Head was. I had to add it in after 60 questions and no right answers.

Same for Danny Phantom's female clone.
