    Haha. That brought back memories of the original for me. Every level had a section where aliens would start jumping at you from every-fucking-where and it would go into (gratuitous) slow motion for a bit.

    There actually seemed to be fewer aliens in this new one.

    The early hacking games were very easy, with the only 'challenge' being that if you're too busy playing with your dick or stuffing snacks in your face, you might take too long and 'get detected'.

    The one at the end of the level, though, was... horrible.

    I imagine some people get fucked when they fire a few rounds, reload out of habit, only to find out that they just lost the 100+ rounds still in the clip.

    So they're modding a remake of a mod of a sequel... :mid2

    Only thing I found annoying about the game was that reloading loses the rest of the ammo. 'Course that's just a personal problem. too used to one bullet clip mechanic. Oh well...

    Got it yesterday and played it last night for 4 hours. Felt like 2. Heaps of fun.

    Infections are freakin' annoying. It takes forever to heal them, and if your medic and someone else gets one, you're pretty screwed since the med packs are insufficient sometimes and the med gun is for one person at a time. I've seen a couple glitches, but nothing too bad. I kept getting massive lag with the default graphics, though. Thought my graphics card was pretty good, but evidently not... I still get lag, but only in the lobby now, strangely.

    Sole actual complaint, though, is that there's only the one campaign. There's enough diversity within it to make it last for a reasonable amount of time, but another campaign in the near future would be brilliant.

    It has an IN-GAME level editor which can also randomly generate missions.

    In Steam Tools, install the Alien Swarm SDK.
    Run the game as normal.
    Activate the console.
    Open it.
    Type 'SV_Cheats 1'
    Type 'ASW_tilegen'

    If you invite people to a level you just generated, it'll send them the raw data file and they'll compile it on their own machines. It'll add a minute or two to the initial load, but it's good for quick testing.

    1. Open TileGen using the steps described above.
    2. Click on the "Missions" tab.
    3. A list of missions will appear on the right. Click on the "example_200" mission.
    4. Click the "Generate Layout" button.
    5. TileGen will switch to the Layout tab and the mission will be generated.
    6. To see the layout, scroll to the middle bottom part of the layout grid.
    7. To test your TileGen map, Choose File -> Export VMF and Play Map.

    Great game, very intense and addictive. I'll be playing it a bit later if anybody wants to join me.

    Can I change how I view public servers? Like am I able to see how many players are in it and the ping?
