While buying a cane to complete my outfit today, I couldn't resist buying a sword/knife to go with it.

    Happy fantasies for me. :)

I'm probably going to end up staying at home, listening to some heavy metal, and drinking alot. (and then probably doing some really, really stupid things.)

Happens every Halloween. There was a reason to it at some point too but I can't be bothered to remember.

Oh, pointless note that isn't so pointless: nonjon's sequel to "The Untitled Cheekquel Project" is posted and hilarious. "You Did What?" Is such a classic title! (or maybe I'm just obsessed.)

All Hallows Eve ismads my favorite holiday, much better than Christmas. It is a mere 8 days before my birthday

They are calling it All Hallow's Eve because Halloween is just the bastardized form of it.

Which was an attempt to blot out The Day of the Dead just as the 25th of December was chosen to merge the Pagan celebrations of the Winter Solstice with Christianity.

Hardly anything is what it was before, most people don't care. It's sad, really.

I was watching some show on the discovery channel the other week. They worked out that Jesus was born around April 17th or something. 25th of Dec is the day the three kings arrived to give their presents or something like that. Meh...

A lot of holidays and traditions today are based on pagan rituals and beliefs. Most new(er) major religions are, also.

Yes, except a lot of people are hypocrites by vehemently denying that their religion, or holidays now associated with their religion, is mainly influenced by pagans. They also like to crusade against the enlightenment of the public.

Islam claim that the head god of the pantheon preceding it was actually Allah and that what happened was that their ancestors got influenced by the surrounding religions and added the other Gods, so when Islam became a religion they kept all of the stuff related to that God. You have to give Muhammad credit for coming up with a clever way to link the old wys with the new. And which Jewish holidays were previously Pagan holidays because from what I understand alot of their Holidays are proven to have happened on that date.

I was talking mainly about Christianity. I tend to rant a bit on it because of the household I grew up in.
