Ignore the summary, this is a ridiculously dark story. I was going to recc it in the library until the ending happened. Ugh. Still, I don't think I'll be forgetting it any time soon.

Why do people always forget that Harry is the head of the Potter family, and therefore can control marriage proposals by their own goddamn rules

To be fair, there isn't any set of rules that states that. It's quite easy to create a way that he can't control it because he's the last of line. That being said, I still haven't seen it done well. I do hold out hope though, I think that it could be done well and be an enjoyable read.

Hermione, I could sort-of understand, since if there's anyone he could go to for casual/comfort sex, it'd be her (if she's written to not be prudish, and also depends on how the story itself is written/planned out), but...Ron?

Does not compute.

 

That story reaches dark, and then just continues on into depressing. Gorgeous writing, believable characters and a well thought out plot should make this library worthy; but that ending felt more than a little rushed. Perhaps I would believe it more if there were foreshadowing to this ending, or even a sense of consequence for Bill. Charlie KNOWS that he is bound, that the only way he can possibly marry Fluer is through murder.

However, I think the interaction of Bill and Charlie in Egypt is when this story starts going south. We never really see what turns Bill into this darker, sociopath that Charlie can't accept. I would like some more interactions in between the flight to Egypt and the murder of Harry's doctor friend, something increasingly dark that turns Bill from an antisocial asshole into an antisocial sociopath.

I'd score this story somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 out of 5.

 

Yeah, it was fairly depressing. And his other stories are of varying quality.

The Ginny bits are weird, I can't figure out if he's angling for a love potion or some good old-natured lusting, but it's meh-ish either way. Still, the rest is fairly well written.

However, I've been craving good HP/Slytherin stories lately, so I'm going to latch onto this one and not let go. Hopefully it's decent like you say.

And there's a decent AU, an interesting Daphne, and the smut's decent enough to be a turn on but not so slutty that it's porn.

I almost *never* read anything on FicWad anymore, but took a chance on this one. If you can get past the incredible stupidity of the smoking (wtf?), it actually has some well-above-average smut in it.

 

I guess it's slightly AU, or the author made a mistake. Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Also, yeah, the smoking bugs me a bit... but the fact that it's repercussions are already visible is a good thing.

 

...I can't read this trash, it's terrible. The whole thing is stupid.

 

If only they could all be like this one. I think it's funny how hermione acts like a prude half the time and is encouraging the relationship half the time. Though I was amused/disappointed with Harry's attraction to Ginny, it screams love potion subplot or something along those lines.... That makes me think of Harry potter and the fifth element (The longest fic I've ever read) and Harry Potter and futures past..... one is almost recommendable because of it's sheer size and the other is a soul bond fic, which is just so ever slightly above veela bond stories in my book. I like the portrayal of Blaise and Daphne, clever but not to evil, though I don't get the smoking bit seems unnecessary and bad 3/5.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty shit tbh. It's not a Harry/Daphne story, it's a "two people have sex" story.

The only thing written well in that story is the smut, which for what it is, isn't bad at all. But you could honestly replace Harry and Daphne with anyone else, and get exactly the same story. The random side plot elements such as the Katie thing, and all this Draco spying business feels incredibly forced.

Also, there's no real development of the two main characters, they meet, they have sex, he has a cigarette. Whoodefuckingdo. I don't give a flying fuck about any of the characters in this story, and that alone makes me not care, or want to read it anymore.

TL;DR, if you're after smut, this is a very solid choice. If you're after anything resembling Harry Potter, probably best to avoid.
