I'm pretty sure it's called the WTF fics thread or fanfictions worst summaries.

I like the concept of NeverWas - in fact, I'm kind of jealous I didn't think of it myself. But the rest of the fic is forgettable. It reads more like a partially fleshed-out plot synopsis than something worth publishing as final draft material.

    Good ideas, shoddy execution.

How Hard Could It Really Be

The tone is...interesting, The story itself nothing earth shattering but I think it's worthy of one time reading.

After combing Vash's main list, this Volume and the Rejected list I thought I'd throw out a rec:

    Title: The Girl Who Lived
    Author: Darth Drafter
    Pairing: Harry/Usagi
    Rating: M
    Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5353683/1/
Story Summary: Sirius is dead. The Headmaster tells Harry that mpreg is the true power Voldemort knows not. Harry reacts with an 8 timezone apparition to the Pools of Sorrow. Non-mpreg! Will have happy ending! Multicross.

A Harry Potter, Ranma ½, and Sailor Moon crossover. Started reading it thinking it was a parody of mpreg fics and got pulled into a pretty decent story. Its a cross-over with Sailor Moon (which for some reason tells me it won't fly with most DLP'ers) and Ranma ½ (this story is actually what got me interested in that series, so woo). It's finished and has a sequel WIP which is more focused on the war in Britain. As of the latest chapter (Ch. 18 ) Voldemort's is treated to one of the worst punishments I've ever seen him subjected to (not as good as Path of Decision, but a hell of a lot funnier).
He purposely dive's into one of the Jusenkyo pools and ends up "choosing" Spring of Drowned Blushing Bride, which leave's him with the "desire's of a young bride"

I like HP. The SM fandom was one of my first so Nostalgia points for that. I tried reading the fic and I think it hit every peeve possible Mamoru!bashing, Dumbledore bashing, stupid wizarding world, etc.

Also when did labelling something a Crack!fic become a defense for writing a shitty story?

I remember reading a fair chunk of that story after seeing a recommendation for it over on TVTropes. I believe the reasons for rec were "Crack story that turns less crackish after a few chapters" or something like that. Regardless, I stopped reading it when it didn't make any sense for 5 straight chapters.

An almost recommendable story. I'ts fairly straightforward. The writing is flawless, but with enough flair to give it a decent style. It reads slightly passive though, and the action scenes could be a little better and more exciting. Also the character interaction could be a little bit more focused and developed.

That being said, it is a semi-fluffy book 5 rehash with a slowly budding HP/Tonks relationship. It skips over most of the plot though and you see the behind the scenes sort of stuff, so it not just rereading the book. I guess the biggest thing it has going for it is that it was good enough for me to actually read through the whole and care about the next scene slightly, which is more than most stories can say. It could be longer though, with smoother transitions.

This is a nice change of pace. The characterization is believable, and while fluffy, the story isn't (so far) a complete sap-fest. While I wouldn't actually call the writing flawless, it is solid. Add that to the characters and the plot of OotP as a vague backdrop, and you've got a decent way to waste some time. Good find, Lord Anarchy.

Been following that; I wish it was more detailed, especially on the divergence from canon timeline front, but it's a pretty good timekiller.

Rebel and Chosen... I wouldn't give it more than a 2.5, really, unless it gets significantly better.

Extremely informal writing, random OMGSOCUTE moments, lack of actual plot, etc. The only good things are the half-decent characterizations and that the relationship doesn't start in like 5k words.

I'll probably keep reading, but I won't be waiting for updates.

Rebel and Chosen is better than average in my opinion. at least 3 stars.

of course I might be tiny bit biased since it is H/T but who cares. :D

The Rebel and the Chosen is readable and entertaining if bored. There's very little substance to it, at the moment. I'm hoping that the next chapter will represent a more significant divergence from canon.

I did like how the author completely glossed over all the stuff that would be almost identical to canon. If you're doing a canon rehash, that's the way to go. I don't want to read the same stuff over and over. Focus on the changes.

I'd probably give it 3/5 at the moment, were it posted in For Review. It could go up though.

Here's a Healer!Harry fic (yes, I know, I finally found one!) that I was linked to.

    Harry Potter: Healing Hands
    By Oruma Yar

AU. Harry, indignant over Remus Lupin's resignation at the end of third year, had an epiphany-and channel his "saving-people-thing" differently. He wanted to become a Healer.

    Chapters: 16 - Words: 70,686

    http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6585807/1/Harry_Potter_Healing_Hands

Definitely almost recommended material. I wouldn't post it in For Review. It has an okay premise: post-POA Harry decides he wants to be a healer, specifically in order to discover a cure for Remus. What follows is something of a turnaround in Harry's work ethic. A lot of potential pairings: Harry/Cho, Harry/Susan, among others. The author is keeping it fairly teen though: no claims of true love here, just awkward teen romance.

The fic is just approaching the start of the Triwizard now.

There are some interesting changes to some characters and plot points. The Tournament has been adjusted slightly. We have some more detail on the foreign students. Fleur looks to be an antagonist.

The real downfall are the stupid Harry Potter fanfic tropes that the author uses every so often. It's not overwhelming: maybe a facepalm moment every couple of chapters, but when they come you just want to shout at the author for ruining an otherwise good story.

I've been following this one for a week and a half or so, now, and I think you described it perfectly. It's worth a read.

    Nocturnal by forcedInduction

Sure, they were awake during the day. But it seemed like night was when they truly lived. HHr romance in second year. M for sexy reasons. Featuring Ron "Comic Relief" Weasley. Begins with the Polyjuice Incident.

    http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6624252/1/Nocturnal

So yeah starts out fairly trope-ish, also uber-young!romance, but the last few chapters have been incredibly hilarious, drawing the story from Romance into Parody. Especially the last two chapters. Really, really excellent parody material there.
