People were actually using it as the name of the Second Entity in the comments before that showed up since it was deemed fitting when together with Zion. Wildbow officializing it only ensured that in all discussions everyone uses Eden. I don't even check tags unless someone tells me to, hell I didn't even realize they were there until halfway into the story.

 

If we're playing this game, then you should know that Glory Girl is anything but a main character. She features heavily in Arc 2/3 because Taylor needed to be introduced to the entire world of superheroes.

I don't tag fics on FFN with anybody who isn't a main character. Neurocracy's main characters have been, and always will be, Taylor and Legend.

 

I found an interesting fic yesterday, it's a Worm/Stargate Atlantis crossover:

Taylor doesn't get any powers/shards, instead she is transformed into an Asuran/Replicator and the story goes from there. The writing is competent enough, six longish chapters are up. Only problem I see: Taylor get's rather overpowered later on, because the SG tech falls under Clarke's third law.

Read this, really liked it. I'm still liking Mary Sue plotlines in Worm ff.

I like that her dad got a power, but I also kind of get a bad feeling from him. I like that she isn't in Brockton Bay anymore as well.

 

I don't think it's a good idea to "frontload" a fic with an overpowered main character. It will come back to bite the author in the ass as soon as the main conflicts start.

What I would really like to read just now is a Tinker!Taylor story that doesn't use stupid plot devices to drive the fic (Death's Head) and ignores the whole backstory of the later "Worm" arcs to focus on Taylor's new power and how she uses it.

 

Or just keep Cauldron but screw the Aliens.

I wouldn't mind a story that takes place on the alternate Earths that Scion attacks. Scion vs. Marvel, Scion vs. DC, etc.

This was the whole reason I loved the first half of the story the most. Once Taylor left the Undersiders things were never the same for me, and not just because I prefer Taylor as a villain.

 

I'm still waiting for the first HP/Worm crossover.

 

I thought the writing was pretty bad. Not the spelling or grammar, but the characterization and behavior of the characters.
I only read the first two chapters and even then just skimmed at the end.

Spoilers for the first two chapters following.

Just look at the way Taylor and her father interact and talk. They are completely out of character. Then the discussion with the PRT/Protectorate is the same.
This is not how they would talk. Especially not at this point in the story.

These are the words exchanged between Taylor and her dad after she has been missing for two days.

Why? There's no good reason for him to say this. Taylor should have to convince her father to let her join. This doesn't make sense. It's not a binary choice between joining the wards or becoming a villain.

Then she shows off her power without any disguise in front of witnesses.

This is her thought process not even a day after she triggered? What the hell?


Then there is the constant swearing regardless of the situation by almost all the characters. Very OOC.

 

Wasn't LA a small city after Levi? So, it shouldn't be that big a scale.

LA wasn't attacked until Tohu/Bohu showed up, and the fact that Alexandria leads the city Protectorate is pretty telling that it's a big deal.

 

It should however be smaller than in real life, wouldn't surprise me if it didn't even get to 2 million people.

 

How you figure? I'd imagine people would flock to the place, just because there's a Triumvirate member on the job. In a world where the Endbringers could appear anywhere and villains run loose constantly, I wouldn't mind knowing that Superman-lite was waiting in the wings to bust heads.

 

Well mainly because I recall it being it stated in story that due to how the Endbringers tend to target the biggest cities there was somewhat of an exodus from them.

Am I confusing a fanfic with canon?
