Eh. Considering the update before this latest one established Coil as taking a deliberate interest in the broadcast and putting Taylor on his list right behind Dinah, I'm not sure where you guys are getting "there's no plot in sight" from.

It's slow as shit, I definitely won't argue that, but there's definitely at least a subplot forming about Coil trying to/succeeding in getting Taylor under his thumb.

 

Hope Comes to Brockton Bay got locked in SB for someeee reason. I don't care why, I'm just amused how happy I am that it got locked.

 

Something about the mods finally finding out there had been a on-screen sex scene of some sort between underaged characters that had only just now reached their attention. I think, at least. Havocfett wasn't too clear about it besides showing up to dispense oppression and half-naked loincloth-men, and I gave up on that story when I realized it was the tale of how a Mary Sue can cure everyone's ailments and illnesses.

 

I gave up on that story when I understood that Ack had written it, can't stand his works.

 

SB has the Worm authors blowing up again due to the story getting locked. I'm still amused.

Also, even though it has been stated before. Ack is such a terrible writer and Ox's post is the best idea yet.

 

In fairness, they blow up over the stupidest shit. SB'ers being SB'ers were having a shipping discussion on my story -- even though there's no ship :facepalm.

They were just playing around, not breaking any rules and I think the most "sexual" it got was someone fawning and drooling (remember, this is SB). Someone got offended, started an argument, and then reported it, and in comes a Mod "laying down the law! No PEDO! (or something to the effect.)"

I was like, WTF? Less caffeine, dude. Take another hit on the bong and relax. Meh.

 

On one hand, Ack did violate the rules of SB and SV, so his threads getting hit aren't a big deal to me. On the other hand, the mods going batshit crazy stating that the readers failed to report this and should feel ashamed of themselves is just stupid.

I have to say, the attitude towards any relationship of characters below the age of 18 by the owners/mods at SB and SV remind me of male Republicans that decry homosexuality. You hear nothing but outrage and fury, but it's those who yell the loudest that get caught in public with their paid male escorts.

 

While I definitely largely agree, there are understandable reasons for why they're so ready to go overboard about it (at least on SB). There's apparently professional livelihoods connected to the site in some way and if SB started commonly hosting the NSFW shit, people would lose their jobs.

The mod reactions are more than a bit extreme, but I don't see it as that big a deal in light of the possible consequences of inaction.

 

Eh, I'm not saying they should host NSFW content. That rule doesn't bug me at all, and Ack crossed the line there. And I'll also agree with Heather that there is some really dumb shipping advocated on SB. I stopped reading her thread there with all the "durr, I think Sophia and Taylor should hook up!" comments. And Silencio is being ruined from all the crazies advocating Grue/Purity and Cricket/Parian.

Actually I think my aggravation stems from the tone of the mods. They seem to delight in using language that signals "Come at me bro!" and in the past I have seen them used on threads that to me came nowhere near approaching a line. Although, I do have to concede, as someone who skims most posts just to read the author updates, I suppose their tone may be justified if they have to do nothing but wade through idiotic posts.

 

Actually Taylor thinks hes working for accord, pretty sure hes with the prt, but if he is actually with accord it would be quite a surprise.

 

Unless I very much missed something, it's pretty clearly implied that Danny is Gumshoe, a Protectorate cape that transferred to Boston after an incident that had every major gang in town after his ass. Taylor just thinks he's working for Accord because she can't see him as a Protectorate cape or something.

 

Speaking of your fanfic, Heather... mind uploading it here as well? I'd rather not read through the utter tripe that is the SV reading base's idea of conversation.
