Kassien is a complete tease. He spews forth cliche after cliche complete with tedious recaps of everyone's days, yet somehow created a hook for me with his Never Ending Summer. I wanted to see what happened when everyone caught onto Harry banging Tonks.

Too bad it never really happened. Dumbledore finds out and congratulates Harry. Yipee. The Dumbledore/Harry mutual affection society in that story bugged the shit out of me.

The only one of those new stories that I'll even follow is the Harry/Daphne one, and that's only because I'm stupid for that pairing.

 

You must resist. Standards, people. Standards!

Tattoos? Check.
Drugs? Check.
Piercings? Check.
Ignoring Dumbledore so Harry can go out and become 'cool'? Check.
Mindless sex? Check.
OOCness? Several checks.

Harry Potter? Only in name.

 

Why Dance When You Can Slay The Dragon?

It starts out as a Yule Ball fic and then the writer decided to make a story out of it. I enjoy the writing style, as it just kind of flows along, and all of a sudden your into the third chapter wondering where the last two went. It's Harry/Hermione, Manipulative Dumbledore, 18 chapters long and seemingly a WIP.

I put it here because it's far too fluffy for DLP, it goes the Harry/Ginny love potion route although it is refreshing that Ron is the one that saves Harry from it and Ginny has pretty much no idea, and Harry transfers to a school in Arizona under a Headmaster who just happens to be the coolest thing since sliced bread. Still, if you don't go into it with too many expectations, some of you might enjoy it.

Not bad. Well-written, but lacking in detail. The action scenes are poor, but it's the only crossover with Hellsing, a popular manga about a vampire killing Nazis.

 

That's understating it, more like the King of the Undead going Holocaust times 10 on the Nazi survivors .

It wasnt bad by any stretch. What turned me off to it though, was that by the fourth chapter, we're slapped in the face with a superpowered OC. I couldnt get past that part.

 

Leonidas? He's not really super-powered. In fact, if he loses that sword, he's pretty much shit out of luck.

 

That's when I hit the x.

 

I got bored with it and hit the x.

 

Completely unnecessary and slightly annoying Harmony bits, but they can be mostly ignored. Really though, this is just a fun and light-hearted humorous little one-shot. Funny idea, executed decently. Worth a laugh for the five minutes it takes to read.

I'd give this a 4/5. Too short and lacking true awesomeness to bother with the library for me. That and the pointlessness of the Beaver-love thrown in peeved me.

 

Nice find, nonjon. That was short and enjoyable. And yeah, the H/Hr was completely unnecessary.

 

Reminds me of a fic where Harry decides to screw around with magical contracts: He gets a piece of parchment, casts the confundus charm on and writes "I xxx swear on my magic/life etc etc that I am not a Death Eater, I haven't killed people/wrong people" and proceeds to kill all the death eaters he knows of + Voldemort.

This parchment reveals all the breaches before it kills the person, and in a fit of Indy!Harry he decides to do it for Dumbledore, whos manipulations earn him a death.

 

Viktor-bashing was pretty pointless, but the story was quite entertaining.

 

It wasnt that bad. It was a pretty good read, but it would have been better as a crackfic.

As for the one Nonjon linked; I liked it beyond some glaring spelling errors. I lol'd when the contest happened. What a way to go...

I was almost tempted to post this in For Review, but I decided that it had too many qualities that DLP would like. We have AdoptedFather!Snape, cutter!Harry, and swords in the prologue, though they don't seem to be a factor after that. I think it is well written and I do enjoy it, but I can't say it's Library-worthy.

I generally don't like crossovers unless they're written extremely well, but found these to be quite enjoyable. I reckon they'd get 3/5 even in the library.

 

Thats probably a typo. I think he meant to say, 'DLP would NOT like.'

 

Harry Mewter updated, and it's quickly becoming one of my favourite light reading fics. The deviations from canon are minor so far (with the basic plot sticking to canon but the events that make it up changing) but the latest chapter seems to have introduced a completely new idea into the mix. It may be just me too but I'm thinking that giant tree may in fact be a pokemon.
