I tend to not enjoy fics where the authors describe Hermione as heroine rather than sidekick, because that's usually a bad sign. Nor do I get the Loki obsession some people seem to have.
Eh, Ill try it and post again.

How did the first few paragraphs not burn your eyes?

Jesus. We get it, the author really likes Hermione.

This basically explains the author's idea of Hermione, not so subtly disguised as a semi joke semi statement. I think I puked in my mouth a little.

Second chapter gets even worse. They absorb so many ridiculous powers, it's painful. Had to stop after the umpteenth artifact was described and had been embedded somewhere in Hermione's body.

And Harry is a bloody dragon-thing...how in the world would he get a job as a secretary?

This reads like neither Hermione nor Loki worship at all. While there are a couple of sentences that flirt dangerously with run-on status in that first chapter, the author manages to handle prose without strangling the story until it turns purple.

The powers acquired are mostly things they already had access to...

...because they absorbed artifacts that they were carrying or were nearby, except now they can't share the artifacts with each other anymore... at least as far as the Hallows are concerned. Hermione can't pass the cloak to Harry, because it's now a part of her. Some of the others harm the user in some way if you try to use them.

I mean, yeah, there's Harry's dragon form, but even he views it as useless on street-level, at a human vs human scale, unless he just stops caring about innocent collateral damage. There's also the fact that he's struggling not to lose his mind to the dragon.

And, most of the artifacts, when absorbed, became bizarre features of their anatomy, with which they are not at all pleased.

Hermione receives her share of admiration and spotlight moments, and so does Harry, in his own way. I think his approach to things appears brash on the surface, but deceptively so, because there's a very purposeful and tactical thought process working behind it all. It's not quite the Columbo approach, but you get the idea.

Loki gets point-of-view sections, but so far it hasn't been too often, nor for too terribly long at a stretch. He and his invasion may be a focus of the other characters, but the story is still very much about Harry and Hermione. So, no Loki-obsessed BS going on, here.

    I subscribed.

    Warlocke gets it right.

Yeah, it goes a bit over the top. But I don't mind it at all. It's really rather amusing to read. Not library quality, but a competent time waster.

Didn't like this fic at all.

I was on a train so read through 8 or so chapters and it's rather bad. The beginning "look how awesome these characters are! eh? eh? aren't they awesome?" nearly stopped me dead in my tracks. And it gets worse from there on. They lose their magic. Not that it's called that, but the lame explanation of having their magic disrupt glamor charms is just stupid.

Also it features my all time pet peeve of xovers."Hey you know how I'm a wizard and could just take anything I need? I'm way way to noble for that. I'm just going to take this menial job and not use magic to improve my living conditions at all." Honestly I want to read a fic where Draco or Bellatrix goes to an au and fucks everyone up now. Or people would just steal the idea of Harry reparoing things for a living.

The "oh Hermione you so clever gets grating as well. The pinnacle being where she puts down Loki with a speech after which Tony promptly turns up to join in with the praise.

The worst thing for me was when they decide to use magic for the first time. Instead of using their well honed magic (they take out dark wizards for a living) to take on the first major disaster they encounter. Harry decides to turn into a dragon. Which is something he has only done once, two years ago at this point. It's clear that the reason for this is that the author though that it's way more awesome for a dragon to fight them than just boring old magic. Well no it's not. Harry animating every single gargoyle in NYC to take on the Chitauri hand to hand and conjuring streams of molten metal to burn the Levithians out of the sky would have been way more interesting. I just hate how the author feels that he needs to nerf the shit out of wizards just to give them pointless abilities.

This is a Hermione masturbation fic. Enough said.

Also it's clearly said that they are 29 years old. In chapter 3 they are 18 years old. WTF?

The fic is interesting(character interaction with Loki and Fury) and completely annoying at the same time(Hermione and partly Harry's characterization and gimmick galore). It's impossible to suspend my disbelief while reading it.

Giving them all these extra powers seems kinda pointless, as a) their magic was plenty powerful already and b) the new powers seem to have completely sidelined the use of their HP magic.

Their age didn't change - they're just passing themselves off as 18 since wizards have longer lifespans and don't look as old as a muggle would.

There's something you might wish the film makers had thought of for the epilogue scene.

Audience members wouldn't get it if Harry looked 18, but had an 11 year old son. Especially those audience members who have not read the books.

But it was just thrown in that they are 18. It wasn't explained

Meh... I've seen those and hit the X. I don't really feel like that's what this is.

Or, maybe I'm subconsciously giving it a pass because of the writing style.

Either way, I've seen far, far, worse.

Better than the spoon-feeding some authors do because they think the reader is as dim a bulb as they are. :)

It's not terribly written (technically), but it remains just as much a masturbatory fic at its essence as those terribly written ones.

Maybe. But it would have been better - at least for me - if he had thrown in a half sentence about it.

For your other point: You like the writing style? It's chunky, it jumps around, changes time...

    Yup.

Warlock said it better than I could. Enjoyable.

I now really want to see this scene. Just FYI. But Hermione was concerned about secrecy. Which is easier to explain? I'm a dragon? Or I make physics my bitch on a daily basis?

As is, they aren't going to look much further than "He's a fucking dragon." Probably come up with similar theories to Bruce Banner's transformation and stay on Gamma Radiation for ages before thinking to question that there might be more.

Once again, the author fails in that s/he didn't explain that, but its possible that they hoped it was implied. Ergo, assuming the readers are smart vs. spoon-feeding them.

There is spoon feeding information and there is story telling.
