    How much of that feeling was a result of the writing instead of the actor though? Certain anti-social aspects of Takeshi's character in Season 1 were very heavily emphasized (understandable), but in Season 2 we just have a very mild half-hearted backstab attempt with Threpp for him to work with when he tries to go off world. I also feel like Mackey had much better on-screen chemistry with his 5 man band than Season 1 Kovacs ever managed.

    Not really worth an Emmy, but a substantial improvement. At least on rewatch with a lot of cold medicine.

    Not saying the first guy was better or anything. They just felt very different.
