Fonti dying is a huge affront to me. Now I have to read the thread. I'm considering avoiding this.

I'm going to try to find a post with claims and things. Roles on this site are always quite differnet than roles on other sites I play at.

Well, he's claiming VT now and I don't believe it. I'm pretty sure there must be either several VTs or none.

 

I'm a specific Old God, I just don't have any powers.

I'm saving flavour in case Elemental claims the god I am.

 

Hmm. I don't get why anyone would claim someone else's God.

 

If someone is scum, they can't claim to be their actual role. So if scum weren't provided with fake claims, they have to guess a role that isn't in the game and pretend to be that person. So Elemental could well accidentally claim my rolename.

 

Since there are more than 16 characters in American Gods, that seems pretty weak.

 

But why couldn't they just claim theirs?

 

The point is, if people claim too obscure of names, it's less likely that they will be in the game or believed to be in the game. Like how I didn't believe Horus was in the game.

I also don't see any benefit to claiming my role name.

Because the scum are the New Gods, and are called things like Media, Black Hats etc... So obviously claiming those is equal to a scum claim.

Aaand I just put that together. Ok. That's why someone was talking about the Old God/New God thing with my role.

What kind of stuff would be neutral? Were there more gods than Old and New? Were there any others in both?

I'd say that someone that knows the lore should post a list of believable gods, but that's probably a bad idea for fake claim potential. And I don't know that it'll be cookie cutter obvious because of my role.

Who hasn't claimed aside from me?

 

Loki is and Old God, but he acts as Mr World, the leader of the New Gods in order to force a battle between the two groups and act as a sacrifice for the good of himself and Odin/Mr Wednesday.

You can see why he might be considered any alignment

Scum, why did you have to kill all the active people? lj and I make up for about 70% of day 3.

Ok. So, I'm like 15% through the book, and there's nothing really about Gods yet, just foreshadowing. Hopefully I'll finish it in the next day or two.
