Nuhuh's been planning to set something up over the summer similar to the HP-Lexicon. I've got a few guys pitching in with Info gathering and that kind of thing, but more help is always welcome.

 

I'm reading through White Night again and making notes as I go along so I'll do the article for that, if this thing actually starts up.

 

Cool. I'll have to wait until I've finished the series before I contribute, but that shouldn't be long.

Also, I do think that it should be something that we as a group possess ourselves. Expanding someone else's Wiki just feels like we're doing all the hard work and then letting someone else claim it for free.

 

Well I kinda read through most of the series just before Small Favor came out (got to Proven Guilty but then real life got in the way >_>), so I've got a good grasp on the story line... Or so I like to think.

And yeah, doing something we set up ourselves would be more fulfilling I guess.

 

I would say model it after the HP Lexicon, ie divide it into categories like people, places, things/objects, organizations, books (breakdowns of chapters with quotes, etc), magic (spell encyclopedia, etc), you get the picture.

It would be a shit ton of work because as of now, Dresden is on something like its 13th book, when HP only has 7. And the HP lexicon was an ongoing project for years. I don't think anyone seriously cares that much to put that much effort into it. Realistically, it would have to be a collaboration with a bunch of people working on it.

I'm willing to contribute a few articles but it might be better if someone else spell checks for me.

You've all seen my posts... you know what I mean.

 

That's the beauty of wiki. Anyone who reads your article will be able to fix the typos with ease.

 

While that would be a benefit in normal cases, we have Tinn. We have no need of such trivialities.

 

But the books are like half the size or smaller than the last 3 or 4 Potter books. So it equals out more or less at this point.

I would be willing to help provided Tinn fixs my typos or someone else.

 

Its fairly amusing that we have a Frenchie fixing our English for us.

I'd contribute but all my knowledge of Dresden derives from the first book and DR/DK/DL.

 

Meh. For a collaborative community effort a wiki is a helluva lot better than any other setup I can think of. A DLP admined wiki fer sure, but people power is ftw.

 

Just to point out, This is only me volunteering Tinn. She hasnt actually agreed to do it and I dont thnk anyone's ASKED her too, either.

Also; Dresden is only up to book ten, with four short stories included. Two take place between books nine and ten, one before the series, and one is just a random one you could insert just about anywhere.

Meh. I don't like wiki's for precisely that reason. Anyone can come along and fuck your shit up.

Besides, Nuhuh already told me he wanted an HP-Lexicon style site. It's his major project since it's somewhat related to his college work, so it's his choice. Anyone who wants to volunteer information and essays for characters and the such is more than welcome to do so, I think, but the fact remains its going to be formated like the Lexicon.

 

@Nuhuh: I'm pretty much incapable of picking a subject and writing an article on it, I need more structure, so feel free to 'assign' me some subjects to write on.

PS: I haven't read any of the short stories, anyone know a site they're hosted on?
