    You fuckin' wot, m8?
SSJ4 gave more meaning to the Oozaru thing, and looked visually distinct. I'd argue it's the second coolest of the forms. I'd rank SSJ first, then 4, then 2 - even if Gohan vs Cell was cool, it really could've used more vavoom - and then, last and definitely least, the pile of shit that was the SSJ3 transformation.

In contrast to the wilder look of SSJ4, there's the God bullshit, which is just applying another color over the hair and finito. No foreshadowing at all, just a semiliteral circlejerk and then a magical powerup. Yay.

At first glance, none of these shows look very appealing. Maybe Classroom Crisis and Rokka will be good... but they both sound pretty generic.

Wow, you obviously have nooooo fucking taste Saiyan God was great because it was a more subtle change, rather than the over the top bullshit that had been going on for a long while.

It still doesn't change the fact that storytelling wise, SSJ4 was a complete waste and unneeded, seeing as Saiyan God was supposed to be the end all be all.

It's not about subtlety, you plebeian. It's about showing power, about making clear that this is a Big Deal. How the hell does a hair color change show that? Let me tell you loud and clear: it doesn't.

What does the design of the SSJ4 say? Goku's got fur now, and his hair's black again. Shit's about to get beastly. What does the design of God say? That Toriyama's finally lost it, because there ain't jack shit interesting about the design. Get the hell outta here with your Sonic recolor level bullshit.

And thank your for proving my point about your tastes being complete and utter shit. Please take your Furry!Goku and get the hell out of my sight.

Yeah, whatever, m8. Maybe next time you'll actually be able to present an argument. Until then, be happy with your Sparkly Saiyan God, I guess.

On topic, nothing really interests me this coming season. Nothing really interested me last season either, but I still found stuff to watch. Bye bye Sidonia for now :(

Pretty excited for God Eater, Gangsta, Overlord and Prison School. I'll probably try a couple others, but those are the ones I've been waiting for.

Just saw the first episode of Classroom Crisis. Hadn't paid attention to the description of the show before hand. A slice-of-life Sci-Fi following a bunch of genius student engineers working on future tech in a school on Mars, dealing with the downsizing of the school's budget?

All of my yes. Seriously, I've been looking for this kind of show for a long time.

It's a great premise. Too bad the first ep was so utterly bland.

Classroom Crisis is by Sakurai Hikaru, a notable visual novel writer. She knows her shit - her works are never straightforward, so I'm quite certain that the generic SOL will give way to some darker stuff.

Shimoneta was hilarious. I too want to be a terrorist now.

I second Shimoneta. I didn't have my hopes up, but despite it being very juvenile, I couldn't stop laughing.

Everything up until the last minute was, yeah.

It's like, they had all the ingredients to make a killer first impression, but they just didn't 'shoot' it properly.

I'd have had the whole first ep from hostage boy's POV, lol.

The first episode of Chaos Dragon was a bit underwhelming. I was expecting a bit more from it, as apparently it's the result of a six day long tabletop gaming session involving some pretty notable people - specifically Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass, Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero), Kinoko Nasu (Fate/stay night), and Ryogo Narita (Baccano and Durarara!!).

The main character isn't really one I can get behind, and the end plot point of
    having him sacrifice his friend
felt forced, and wasn't adequately explained.

Also watched the first episode of Rokka no Yuusha. Has a bit of a cliché premise, but the execution was great. The characters are likable so far, especially the MC, and the animation is superb.

I watched the first two episodes of Gangsta, and while the first was good but took a while to get going, the second made me really happy. Happy as in I like the humor, the action, and the characters.

Bikini Warriors was roughly what I expected from a five minute-per-episode show with that cover.

Shimoneta was great at the beginning and toward the end. I felt that the middle part dragged on a bit. Nonetheless, I'm anticipating future episodes.

Overlord I'm not sure about. The premise isn't anything new, and the first episode was a bit lackluster. There were some humorous moments, but it has to step it up a bit to become entertaining.

Gangsta is basically the second coming of Black Lagoon, and that perfectly fucking fine with me. It's good, the main characters are engaging and badass, there's action and a dash of intrigue alongside a heaping helping of bleak cynicism. One of the central duo is also deaf, which is novel and makes for some powerful moments. Watch this.

Overlord... I'm also undecided about. The premise is actually a new thing, despite the impulse to make surface level comparisons to Log Horizon and Sword Art Online; it's closer to the former than the latter, but the dynamic is very different. Momonga is all alone, possibly with only a handful of other players in the entire world. I want it to be good, but it didn't quite make the leap from 'interesting premise' to 'amazing execution'. Too much time wasted on moeshit harem antics. Then again, that was my first impression of Log Horizon. Jury's still out on this one.

Classroom Crisis... eh. I watched the first episode and found myself incapable of giving a fuck. Decent quality animation, but none of the people really drew my attention, with the exception of the transfer student who was in the background most of the time. Perhaps next episode'll prove more interesting, but my initial level of interest in the genre in general and this show in particular aren't very high.

Watched the first two episodes of Gangsta because of the Black Lagoon comparison and I think that description is unfair towards Gangsta because that caused me to have a lot of high expectations that the show completely failed to meet.

I can see where the comparison might come from, the style of the opening, what with the font and all are all very reminiscent of Black Lagoon, as is the fact that it is playing in a more or less lawless (fictional? don't think they said the name) city where villainy rules, but really, that's like saying Prince of Tennis and Baby Steps are similar because they are both sports manga about tennis.

If I were to describe it, I would say it is like a more gritty One Piece (only not really, just the whole tags thing which reminded me of the bounties in terms of determining the strength of a fighter), the fights certainly felt like that, where the two invincible main dudes could take apart countless enemies without a scratch, the deaf one was even using a sword to do so.

It's just, the doctor in the second episode was totally bored, when 6 criminals/mercenaries were standing in front of him and the one time he showed a bit of emotion was when his praxis got damaged in the fight, for which he comically attacked the deaf dude defending him.

Dunno, I didn't find it funny, nor did I find the fight engaging. I am still not sure what kind of world this is supposed to be. Given that they had air battles and classifications for how strong someone is via a tag system is going to get into some bullshit levels, and yet the city seems to be set up to portray a bit more down to earth, shitty city.

Then there is the inconsistency with the deaf dudes hearing. In the first episode, he had his back turned to his partner, who yelled at him and he stopped and turned around. Did I miss something there? Similarly, I am not sure why they are using sign language to communicate with him, given that he can apparently lip read perfectly even over great distance.

Other than that, as mentioned, deafness is a novel idea, but I doubt they are going to pull it off. His deafness seems to bother him in a fight and his daily life about as much as blindness bothers Daredevil.

So, yeah, wherever Black Lagoon succeeded in selling its world and characters, Gangsta failed, at least to me so far. I might try another episode or two, but it wasn't anything to write home about. Maybe it gets better and sets up the city and world better. But yeah, don't expect the greatness of Black Lagoon in this.

Honestly, I got a Samurai Champloo vibe from it, and I wasn't surprised at all to see that it's apparently from the same studio. The doctor part that made me laugh was:

when he opened his gown and said: 'My nurse is currently indisposed, but the doctor is here to see you now'
