First off sorry I haven't started the voting but it'll have to wait for another twelve hours or someone will be nice and compile it for me in the meantime (on phone and its kinda hard to compile summaries/MAL links nicely).

Let's go with two votes, first is what we watch first, second is what we'll watch after (maybe with a little bit of downtime thrown in.) And then we can reset with new nominations.

Toradora!

Toradora! is the story of Takase Ryuji, a boy who looks like a delinquent with narrowed eyes who in reality is ridiculously nice and has a cleaning fetish. He starts his high school life and meets Aisaka Taiga, known as the Palmtop Tiger, a violent and crass loli-looking girl. The story pretty much centers around them and their relationship along with their friends.

The story gets pretty involved and interesting, it's a pretty much straightforward romance/comedy/drama but it is executed near flawlessly in my opinion. All the characters are interesting, three dimensional and fun.

BONUS: Toradora actually has one of my favorite fight scenes in ALL of anime, if not the outright fave. It's very good and unexpected in a show of this kind.

Itoshiki Nozomu is always in despair! Even simple things like paying for the toll on the subway can send him to a despair so deep only attempted suicide is the answer. How Strange is it then, that he should be the teacher of a High School Class filled with students with even more emotional problems than his. This great Comedy will leave you in anything but 'Despair' as you meet each of his students and watch their wacky adventures.

Another plot takes place in New York a year before, involving a seemingly immortal alchemist named Szilard, and the immortality elixir he has developed. Rock (as he is newly dubbed by his captors) catches the interest of the only female merc Revy as she thinks he's worth a ransom, taking him hostage. However, the disc that was stolen has a terrible secret that's unknown to Rock, which causes massive confusion and chaos for both him and his kidnappers.

To each his own I guess? I'd recommend sub anyway, unless it's a really mainstream anime the dubs tend to be bad.

We could set it up so that we all (try to) watch each episode at the same time; use IRC to talk as we watch, or just post it all on the forum.

That would be a bit distracting. Better to watch one series first then the other, and start discussion after each episode is watched, so as not to be distracted from the show...or we could use skype.
