    Update time.

Gargantia has had some pretty big missteps. I'll be the first to argue that the fanservice episodes had some semblance of a point to them, but I can't argue that the next two completely drop the ball. Something I enjoyed about Gargantia was how the characters interacted, and that goes away completely for no apparent reason. The quality of writing also flat-lines when we get massive info-dumps; good job on that whole show don't tell thing, guys. I've already invested enough of my time with this thing that I'll keep watching to the end (or until they do something really dumb), but I think this show would have been better if Urobuchi had been writing the whole thing, it had a few more episodes to work with, or was an OVA series.

Red Data Girl continues to impress in terms of visuals. PA Works is the studio behind it (the same people who did Angel Beats and Another), and they have caught my eye just because of the quality of the animation they are producing. Unfortunately, that's the only place that RDG is impressive. The story hasn't been interesting for a few weeks, and only some of the side-characters and the art have been keeping me from dropping it completely.

Flowers of Evil continues to be my second favorite show of the new season. It is impossible to deny that it is ridiculously slow (eight minutes of hand-holding...and not much else), but the quality of the animation and the writing just keeps me coming back for more. My only problem is that I know not everything from the manga is going to be covered in 12 episodes, so fingers crossed it gets more.

Devil is a Part-Timer keeps making me laugh. Even the influx of new characters hasn't slowed the humor of the show down. Instead, it's just opened up more doors for great, funny moments. Absolutely worth watching if you need a laugh; just don't expect something deep and thought provoking here.

A Certain Scientific Railgun S makes my week. The animation is solid across the board, and unlike the previous season (and both seasons of Index), the characters, plot, and script are consistently high quality. Not a single wasted episode has been released to date, and in each one there is very rarely a wasted minute. I retract my previous statement, and recommend everyone to watch this show, even if you haven't seen the previous season or any of Index; in fact, not having any experience with the Index franchise will make many of the emotional punches to the gut hit even harder. 5/5 (at least until the Sisters Arc is finished).

That's pretty much it. Still haven't bothered revising Titan yet, but I have a long weekend coming up so that will change.

My real question is why are they all random according to Minion?

As opposed to say, planned for release this year?

Random, because most of the plotlines seem to be exchangeable. Of course there are a few which actually aren't, especially Flowers of Evil, but most are based on some topoi and stereotypes you'll find every season. I.e. Valrave the Liberator is a typical Mecha series with loads of Gundam and a few Evangelion moments.
