Silver Spoon is the shit. The manga is done by the same lady who did Fullmetal Alchemist, and it has Armstrong.

Holy shit, none of this looks appealing to me.

Usually there's at least one that I've heard good things about or looks really good, but nothing this season. Yeesh.

You'd think I'd want to watch the new Fate. But no. No I do not.

 

I read a let's play of Danganronpa - The Animation. Its worth a look if you want some surprising twists and a good mystery. It tried to talk about the nature of man, but in the game it fell rather flat, perhaps in this adaptation it will work.

 

Woot, Gin no Saji is getting an anime, awesome. Arakawa is too good.

 

Come on Rehio, you know you will. The manga wasn't awful per se, even if it's one of the weaker Fate spin-offs.

But yeah, looks pretty slim pickings this season. I'll probably follow Genshiken at least. Rozen Maiden might MIGHT be worth it, and I'll probably end up watching Highschool DxD for the ecchi. But I wasn't exactly blown away by any of the new entries.

 

And once again, they go back to the usual with releasing absolutely nothing interesting. I suppose I'll watch Silver Spoon but that's about it.

Edit: Oh, and I wasn't aware we were in the 22nd century. Shows how out of it I really am huh?

 

The monogataris are always fun. Silver Spoon, Rozen Maiden and Blood Lad could be interesting.

The Ghost in the Shell and the new Studio Ghibli will most assuredly be worth watching.

 

They're actually doing an anime of that Fate spin-off series? Urgh. It's kind of funny, but if it proves to be as lame as Carnival Phantasm was, no thanks.

I read the first manga chapter of it - Rin and Illya are competing magical girls, Shirou makes an appearance, but is a "lay" person; he doesn't have any fighting abilities and is delegated to the role usually suited for moe schoolgirls and princesses in other castles. Which is an interesting twist, but I know they don't do anything with it. At best, it'll be another Nanoha.

 

A hundred bucks say the girl is either partially or completely Japanese, even if she's never lived there.

That's the only way they ever have foreigners as main characters in anime; they're either part-Japanese, or they are villains.

Or idiots.

Or both.

Black Lagoon may be the exception that proves the rule: Almost all the main characters are 'foreigners', but they aren't exactly good guys, either.

Asuka Langley Soryu/Shikinami is one of the more ridiculous and well known examples. She's an American citizen who lived and trained in Germany, who is genetically part Japanese and part German, with a mother named Kyoko Zeppelin.

Why? So that she isn't too foreign, as far as I can tell. :facepalm Look up xenophobia in the dictionary and there's this picture of a little string of islands...


Aaannnyway, I'm looking forward to the continuation of Bakemonogatari.

 

It's funny you say that, yet most animu/mango art styles choose to make Asian features unequivocally western. Humans sure are contradictory beasts.

 

Looking forward to Kara no Kyoukai, and a few others. The gatari sires has always been fun to watch.

 

I only came into this thread because I thought the future might have been cool.

But no, 2103 has the same bullshit anime as 2013. I am disappoint.

 

I'm personally kind of surprised that Fate is still a thing in ninety years - wonder if it's a remake or if it actually took that long for it to become an anime.

 

There are many who would argue this point...

 

Eh, Monogatari, Prisma Illya and World God Only Knows I'll all be watching, if only because I enjoyed the previous seasons and the manga in the case of Fate.

Watamote and Danganronpa look like they'll fall flat but I'll watch them anyway.

As for the OVAs, Seitokai, Mirai Nikki and Kara No Kyoukai will all be on my list.

Same as the last how many seasons really. Second seasons, some maybes and a few OVAs/movies.

I liked the April Fools version better. A Tsukihime anime would be awesome.

Your April's Fools version wasn't that well done. A fake version isn't a proper fake version without another sequel of Full Metal Panic.

I finished watching the first episode of Free, the super controversial (for some unexplainable reason) moe-moe-kyun swimming anime featuring FABULOUS MAX high-school boys.



It's KyoAni, so the animation is really solid (especially the water; holy crap that water looks sexy). The opening is metal (seriously), and the ending is hilarious. The nominal lead has a tendency to strip down to his swimming trunks at any opportunity, or just wear nothing but them.



Does an apron count as additional clothes? Whatever, not important.

Also, all the rock hard abs you could ever want. Who needs some grated cheese?



I guess there are some boring female characters around too, but honestly who cares when FABULOUS ABS!!!

So, in a nutshell, picture K-ON, but with boys, and instead of a band you have a swim team. Absolutely worth watching the first episode just for the funny/ridiculous bits, and if you happen to get invested in the characters and their story (or just the crazy crap that they do) then stick with it.
